Should have made it clear!
This is a list of things I had, which doesn't include a "Donkey Jacket", as otherwise the list would be endless! |

You still get dictaphones, they are just digital now.
Flick knifes and so on worry me abroad where the laws are more lax, sometimes I'm on holiday and walk past a shop window and there are these fiendish knifes that have no normal purose other than a weapon. And you're thinking "why are they allowed to sell these things". You don't go fishing with a flick knife .. |

Never went off 'playing' without an 8" knife, with a leather handle, in a sheath on my "snake" belt.
Bought the flick knife from an older boy, whose dad was a Sunday school teacher! Different culture back then, and I never heard of people being attacked with them! They were used for cutting "Y" shape branches, from trees, to make catapults, and for general whittling. Also used for throwing, at which I was rather skilled! On holiday one year, age perhaps twelve, I bought three simple lock knives, for some school mates, and a rather special one for me, with a beautiful mother of pearl style handle. Took it to school and never saw it again! ![]() |

Remember Sixth Form went on a school trip to France in early sixties, resulting in a plethora of flick knives being available for purchase by younger boys. No one wanted one to stab someone, merely owning one had enough Kudos and if you could turn your back on the teacher and flick the blade out to sharpen a pencil the resulting giggles from classmates were enough.
