How can something called "mini cod fillet" possibly be "more than large enough"? And salad and curry sauce seem to have crept in from the kebab house next door.
That said, it sounds better than the two within a couple of miles from here, which charge £7.50 or £8.50 for large cod and (small) chips (take away, obviously). Someone needs to invent a rapid fat drainer from freshly-fried fish imo. |

By:
Curry sauce for chip dipping(who doesn't?..durr) and i can assure you there was nowt "mini" about the cod fillet that was served up.I defy anyone to eclipse this restaurant for fish n chips..if i could give it an 11 out of ten i would kindly do so.

Wivenhoe fish and chip shop has won best in the country a couple of times so must be up there in Essex.
I was working there for a few months last year and must say they were excellent And they have signed photos of amongst others Frank Bruno, and Ant and Dec, so they must be good ![]() |

The curry sauce GOES NOWHERE NEAR THE FISH.Read what i wrote FFS!! ---------------------- What about when it ALL ENTERS your mouth? So, you eat ALL the CURRY covered Chips - on their own - and then You eat ALL the Fish - on it's own - without consuming a single (Curry covered) chip with the fish, or in-between mouthfuls of fish... - and there is NO residue CURRY taste inside your mouth? Don't try to kid me. |

"There is a fish and chip shop in Bournemouth named Chez Fred and every time we visit friends in Bournemouth we visit this top class restaurant.Mind you its that good you have to wait a fair while to be seated."
Went there last week (first time), top quality, we had to wait about 30 mins for a table but worth the wait. Excellent. Wouldn't say best in the country because haven't tried them all, but would surely be one of the best. When we left about 8-30 there was still a big queue for the restaurant and the takeaway. |

haddock musch better flavour than cod
cod feeds off sea bottom where haddock feeds off sea |

Haddock certainly used to be a bottom feeder when I went sea fishing.
