Latest news from HQ Ron is that M/E has been suspended.No one seems to know if he will be reinstated.Morale is at rock bottom as i'm sure it is in the shops.

I managed a Shop for Heathorns years Back ,Ron Happy Was north side of Putney Bridge

I remember the first time I had a bet with the major at Ascot probably 35 years+ ago, I bet £20 on the world cup with him, as I was stood talking to him and JP walked up to him and asked what price a nil/nil draw was an that match, the major said 7/1 and JP asked for 3k on, the major didn't blink.

the score was 1 0 in the first minuteGrin

I think when the major died Matthew took over the business, but unfortunately he died tragically  in a car crash, I don't know the other son but was told he wasn't interested in the business and just wanted to party on his boat in the Caribbean.

I settled in a couple of Heathorns shops in the early Eighties, Redhill and Dorking they were taken over by Corals. Getting a shop visit from the late Michael Simmons was terrifying for a 19 year old greenhorn.

I hope mark got a good send of
I got an e mail from him this week.
I thought about popping along in a cab and putting it down to the firm,
but I live 230 miles away and as I cant have overtime I cant see them picking the tab up,
will you keep me informed how the evening went.
