Ms stew took me for an appointment and as it was getting a bit warm in the car I' slid' the window down. The fact that it wouldn't go back up again slightly peeved Ms stew.
She's off home to her own house and will hopefully get it fixed tomorrow. Obviously an eclectic fault but anybody know what may have caused this please?
I should add that the driver's side is working fine.
Any genuine advice welcome. tia.
PS the window is all the way down now but refuses to go back up.

It may be a problem familiar to mechanics who work on that brand of car. Ask a local indie Ford/Hyundai/Merc/Citroen/Vauxhall/VW/Wotever specialist?

Might be the fuse.
Whether each motor is fused individually I can't say. |

In an old Jag I had, the rear passenger window dropped right down and off it's gearings. When I looked into it, it transpired it was a fairly common issue (not unlike the door locking problem), it was going cost nearly as much as the car was worth to fix it. So I got the door panel off pushed the window up and taped it shut.

She's taking it to a garage tomorrow and I offered to pay half the bill because it was no fault of my own. She wouldn't hear of that. I just hope she doesn't get ripped off.

It could be any of the things already mentioned or it could be the rocker switch. I had one go once, it took just a few minutes to replace.

What car is it? what year? Suspect you will be ripped off at the garage (Nature of the beast).

Sounds like the mrs has not managed to score since she dumped you stewie ,happy days m8 ,you may get your nat king b4 Christmas if you play yor cards right . G/luck

Few from past electric window problems.....
1. The glass pane has slipped off the metal bottom runner / side runner 2. Electric window motor has failed 3. Switch connection popped loose If u hold the glass ( if u can get hold of any of it ) and drag it up / sametime as pressing the switch up..... or unclip the door panel and look with torch to see if glass pane is fixed on the runners. Scrap yard for used part ... window motors are about 1/3rd of price Good luck Captain |

Thanks for the sensible replies. As it happens she texted me this morning and said it was now working!! I hadn't been in her car for about a year and she conveniently forgot to tell me that the central locking has been broken for quite a good while.
Now it appears because the central locking is now back working so is the window. Unbeknown to me when she parked the car in the meantime she had to lock the passenger door manually. Moral of the story....please give me the facts first and secondly cars and women don't mix. |

I just hope she doesn't get ripped off.
Sounds like the uggiemafewjit has come off the bi wankels which in turn has misaligned the gubbins..................even if you can get the parts it's not going to be cheap  |

From the manual: "First, they take the dinglebop, and they smooth it out with a bunch of schleem. The schleem is then repurposed for later batches. They take the dinglebop and they push it through the grumbo, where the fleeb is rubbed against it. It’s important that the fleeb is rubbed, because the fleeb has all of the fleeb juice. Then a schlami shows up, and he rubs it and spits on it. They cut the fleeb. There’s several hizzards in the way. The blamfs rub against the chumbles. And the ploobis and grumbo are shaved away."
Either way, it sounds like a right pane. |

Always wondered why they don't seem to do different coloured window tints to match your paintwork. All seem to be shades of black.

If all the windows work bar one then swap one of the switches over and see if it works. Google and youtube. You can find out how to do nearly everything on cars there.

My drivers window is temperamental along with the rest of the electrics. I get various warning lights flashing at me but I find sticking a bit of black tape over them stops them annoying me.
