Saturday...
Came on here, as usual, with my early morning 'cuppa' to check my e-mail and stuff, before hitting the bathroom....
Looked down  and I had a big area of raw flesh on my right foot!
Had to go to A&E to get it looked at and dressed...
It was decided it was a scald (likely spilt from the kettle) that had blistered and been rubbed off!
My feet have zero feeling so didn't know I'd done it!

Fast forward to Sunday...
Had family for lunch and, after they left, I realised they had left a bag.
Rushing outside to get a phone signal and I lost my balance and fell hard back and hit the door, hard.
I knew it was bad because there was blood covering my hands and all around.
They came back and took me to A&E. This was around four pm and had a long interview with the doctor, where it was established that, apart from the
bad wound, I clearly had memory loss!
The text I was trying to send didn't go, but three e-mails did, and I had no recollection of sending them!

More to follow if anyone is interested......

loss of memory = concussion=stay in hospital for observation. If NHS overloaded- "Take 2 aspirin, go home and lie down  and you will feel better tomorrow"!

I wish you well Faye and hope everything's okay but why on Earth did you not just dress the foot injury yourself in the first place?

Thanks guys for good humour, and sympathy/concern!

"why on Earth did you not just dress the foot injury yourself"?

Well, we're not talking about a minor injury here! I'll send some gruesome pics, if the mods don't think them too upsetting.

Favourite colour? Don't get the connection here, but certainly not red, as I've seen too much of that in the last two days!

My head wound is serious enough for me to suffer six stitches, and to have a CT scan, because there was a worry that there could be a skull fracture,
and/or a bleed on the brain!

After even more waiting, the results were negative, and I finally got back here at 04:10 Monday!

A few words of warning....don't ever go to A&E in the early hours, as I never saw such a bunch of low life, drunken, swearing, revolting despots
in one place at the same time!

How the poorly paid nursing staff can work a twelve hour shift, dealing with these scumbags, and keep their cool, is astonishing!

Does sound like concussion, and unrelated to the scald you couldn't feel. However, it could be related and I suggest you see a specialist.

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old

Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn

At the going down of the sun and in the morning,

We will remember them.

I'm struggling through my late fifties, and this is the first time I got stitched up (except in business)!

Initially they said they would glue and tape it but, when they cleaned the area, it was too bad for that, so I had six stitches!

Not the best Bank Holiday experience!

I put the photos up for the mods and they have been taken down!

Put them up again and still sat there....
