News emerging today that 18 men under the age of 30 (and some others already in prison) have been BANNED from areas of Birmingham for 2 years, in what has been described as 'a landmark ruling'.
Their crime? Oh I don't know, but the authorities somehow think these fragrant and vibrant gentlemen might have some trifling and ill-defined connection with 'gang' business. The BBC website suggests that various Birmingham gangs have been involved in "countless drive-by shootings, drug dealing, intimidation, robberies and kidnapping". A kok and bull story if ever I heard one.
Some exiled men are already reportedly in jail, so they will at least be spared the incalculable daily frustration of not being able to make visits to the £188 million Library of Birmingham.
I'm guessing that those men who still enjoy their liberty might theoretically be able to sneak into the city if they wore a sort of comedy beard or a chef's hat as a cunning disguise?
Thankfully I have a far better, common sense solution which won't involve law-breaking, not that these lovely men of impeccable character would EVER consider doing such a thing you understand.
Why don't they simply relocate to the Borough of NEWHAM, that most storied and stellar of London postal addresses?
You see, London's flagship Multicultural and Diversity Paradise borough is sadly once again coincidentally in the news today, with a gang of 10 men being sent to jail for various offences.
Clearly this will represent a major blow and a short term population crisis for that much-loved borough. I'm sure the locals will want those 10 residents quickly replaced with incomers who will be a seamless fit, contributing financially to the local economy, and culturally to the New Millennium East London Zeitgeist.
Mayor Khan should surely get on the phone to the The Birmingham Eighteen ASAP to offer them safe refuge and a VIP welcome. Go on Mayor Khan - you know you want to.

Why oh why hasn't the Minister for Communities and Local Government been making speeches, telling the gangs to become more ethnically diverse, and follow the example of every other business and community in Britain. These gangs don't appear to be very progressive.

That tweet is obviously a parody so at best/worst the MP was a bit thick for not realising ... one of these two possibilities:
The MP's enemies will say the thick gob**** thought it was true and deleted it when she was told it was a joke. The MP's friends will say she knew it was a joke which is why she retweeted it, then deleted it when she realised other people were fooled. |
