What this Sky news article doesn't say on this 'low level incident' is that it's a band of pikeys that have been moving around Norfolk (and Suffolk).  In Cromer last night, they rushed pubs, shops and restaurants, stealing cash, food and anything else they could get their thieving hands on, there was fighting in the streets and a rape of a young girl.  The police did little, instead of rounding them up, they basically told everybody else to leave Cromer and all the premises to lock all their doors and not let anyone.  The pikeys then went into Sheringham just along the coast and it all happened again, whilst plod stood and watched.

Some pubs, hotels and other businesses in Cromer, Norfolk, have closed their doors this weekend following reports of "low-level disorder", police have said.

Several venues in the seaside resort said they had decided to close on Saturday evening, with residents describing the town as in "lockdown" on social media.

Norman Lamb, Liberal Democrat MP for North Norfolk, tweeted: "Very concerned by what I've read online tonight. Of course happy to support people in Cromer in any way I can."

Norfolk Police said it had increased resources in the town but dismissed reports that someone had been stabbed.

The force said: "We have additional resources in Cromer tonight following reports of low-level disorder earlier today.

"We are aware licensees of local pubs have taken the decision to close this evening and we will have additional officers on patrol to provide reassurance to the local community.

"We are also aware of mentions on social media relating to a stabbing in the town tonight - we can confirm no such incident has been reported to us."

Cromer Pier said it had closed its Theatre Bar on the advice of police.

A statement on the venue's Facebook page said: "On advice from the police the Theatre Bar is closed to the public this evening as are all the other public houses in Cromer.

"Apologies for any inconvenience whilst we support our local police in bringing a difficult situation in the town under control."

The Wellington pub tweeted: "We will not be opening our doors tomorrow! Hopefully normal service will resume on Monday!"

The Red Lion Hotel also wrote on Twitter: "Please be aware the Red Lion is closing early this evening due to local events in the past 24 hours."

At least the people in the comments section in the local rag didn't hold back, no surprise to see these comments deleted soon.

LOcal permanent travellers(pikies) site near us is a no-go area for Police. Occasionally they may fly a helicopter over but that's as near as they get.

Police have now brushed it off with the local SI saying 'I can assure residents these incidents have been dealt with appropriately and are of a nature routinely dealt with in towns such as Cromer on a busy August weekend'

So for August this is normal, no arrests were made, one shopkeeper had £950's worth of stock nicked by a pikey gang rushing his shop, at least five coastal towns in Nofolk/Suffolk have now suffered the same fate.

There was a stand-off last night in Weston Super Mare between travellers and residents - The police threatened the protesting residents with dogs if they didn't move on!Shocked

http://www.bristolpost.co.uk/news/bristol-news/watch-hundreds-protesters-stand-against-353103

A video has showed the scale of the stand off between residents and travellers in a sports field in Weston-super-Mare on Sunday night.

Hundreds of people took to Baytree Recreational Grounds after travellers moved onto the sports field.

Police were called to try and keep the peace, as more people turned up to the protest.

Children could be spotted on both sides of a police barricade between residents and travellers.

A dispersal order was issued shortly after, which allowed police officers to turn away people coming to join the protest.

In the video by Aaron Simmons, a protester can been seen asking a policewoman if they would be arrested and set upon by dogs if they refused to leave.

The policewoman said the order would allow them to do so.

It came after the group of travellers left Clarence Park on Wednesday evening after being told to do so by North Somerset Council.

But instead of moving out of Weston-super-Mare they moved to the nearby Baytree Rec, drawing the ire of the residents.

Things came to a head on Sunday night as a protest was called at the grounds.
