Seen him years ago before he got really famous, he was bottom of the bill on a Little and Large Summer Show in Great Yarmouth, he only had a short spot about 15 mins but he was brilliantly funny, his act was like a manic John Cleese/Basil Fawlty character.
Reading this morning he wins a big payout from Essex Police over unlawful arrest in that rape and murder case, claiming his wrongful arrest destroyed his career, agree if he was not involved he knows who was, still a lot of questions unanswered...... |

If he was not involved he knows who was ,I would imagine that was the Basis for his Arrest ?
I don't think the police normally arrest witnesses. |

I've got no time for the man but his career was ruined following his arrest.
If there is no case for him to answer then he should get fully compensated for the wrecking of his career. The same applied to Cliff Richard. No case to answer, yet his name was dragged through the mud by the police and the BBC. |

If true, the assets of the officer in charge should be taken to help pay the compensation, much like the proceeds of crime. After all the tool has picked up taxpayers money in salary and generous pension so should have to pay for his decision. That might encourage some of these police idiots to find evidence instead of picking a fall guy and fitting the story to suit. After Hillsborough I can believe anything of this shower.

My memory is that Barrymore's career was on the skids even before the incident, never mind his arrest.

it wasn't the arrest than finnished MB it was his refusal to answer many questions about what happened that night. rightly or wrongly there was a feeling that a man had died in very odd circumstances and MB was more interested in saving his own skin that helping plod get to the bottom [sorry!] of it all |
|
By:
through the likely damages from this case the taxpayer now looks set to provide BM with a fabulous pension - that's hard to swallow [sorry again!]

Hopefully the jury will award £1 damages.
The European Human Rights Act may soon be history? Funny how the violators seem protected and the violated seem incidental. |
