he's csrtainly got issues  -  he clearly was annoyed with her walking on the wrong side of the pavement - unclear whether she might have said something to influence his decision - she didn't trip him though .

She didn't do anything. People making up all sorts of excuses here. What he did was bad, very bad ( in Trumpspeak ). He needs locking up whatever his motive. Does anybody want people like that running on " footpaths "?. It could be one of your loved ones.

What I don't get is why he wasn't found. Maybe he realises what he did and has stopped running for fear of being caught. People who know him and realise he has stopped running should get in touch with the police.

Given the location I'd suggest there's a massive chance he was either a tourist or somebody working short term over here hence him not being caught.

What the jogger did was very bad -- whether or not the woman provoked him in some way and whether or not he was aware of the bus (he knew the road was there, even if traffic was coming from behind him). Are we any closer to answering OP's question of why the three months' delay?

After viewing the video clip several times it seems clear to me that this is a case of 'jogger rage'. If you notice he runs past the man - who is on the pavement bit - with no reaction at all, but the woman who is not on the pavement but in his path, he then re-acts violently, clearly thinking to himself why should he move this is my path....and almost pushes her under a bus.

With great pride I can say the successful conclusion of my 4-hour investigation. Clearly in a moment of madness this is pedestrian equivalent of road rage.

Police hunting a jogger who appeared to push a woman into the path of a bus on Putney Bridge in London have arrested a 41-year-old man.

The Met Police said he was detained at an address in Chelsea on Thursday morning on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

He has been taken to a south London police station and remains in custody.

She waited for him to run back across the bridge which he did! She tried to talk to him but he ignored her and ran past. How did the Police not think he might run back over the bridge and wait for him? Which is the bigger criminal offence? How useless are the Police?

I did wonder if he knew her.  Because...

1.  Apparently not reported or acted on for 2 months
2.  She spoke to him  15 minutes later with other people around and no-one 'did' anything e.g. citizens arrest/detained him.

It's clearly not attempted murder and there is no such thing as attempted manslaughter.  It's clearly reckless endangerment but there is no such English law, so what exactly he will be charged with is up in the air.  Probably why the police are stalling.

If you push someone in front of a moving bus I think it is reasonable to assume that there is a good chance they will end up dead.  Therefore, if they do die then it should be murder; if they don't then it ought to be attempted murder.  Without my prison reforms though it doesn't really matter.

Jeremy Vine took heat for saying Putney Jogger must be a banker.........arrested today a yank banker in connection with said incident.   He denies it if he is lying he will be in double trouble.

His firm say he was i the USA at the time.

If it turns out he is lying through his teeth, wasting time & money he should be dealt with very severely.

If he was abroad it should be easy to confirm. Someone needs to point out to plod that he might have two passports both will need to be checked!

It shows how unreliable visual identification evidence can be. Even with cctv footage, the police arrested the wrong man. How many chit-chatters could prove where they were that day three months ago?

I really want to know if Plod have looked at cctv. I would guess they haven't done a proper job. So much cctv to identify his clothes first then look for a bteer close up of his face. Next they will say they didn't look and the cctv has been wiped. Proper Wooden Tops!

I'd absolutely agree that there is something more to it than simply the 20 second clip and cctv image that has been released so far and the interpretation of those that people have placed on it so far.

My guess would be ran round first time and there was an incident, ran round second time knocked her over as in CCTV, then ran round again for some reason.

They have not blown up the images of the clothing he was wearing! We all know 50% of burglars who are caught wear reeboks! His kit could have been identified to give clues.

How could he have not appeared on more CCTV?  Only if he researched CCTV positions and only jogged for a short duration when he knew his target
would be crossing the bridge.

Until someone identifies the person then there is very little they can do.

There is planty they can do! Have they looked through the cctv? Have they identified the clothes and shoes he was wearing?

And if they've looked through the CCTV then there's nothing they can do until someone identifies him from CCTV pics. I'm not sure how identifying the guy is wearing Slazenger joggers and Nike trainers is going to help them identify the guy unless he's the kind of person who writes his name on the outside of them.
