Just finished. Wondered what peoples views were. I think Facts is a Fargo fan.
I felt it lost its way after about 7 or 8 episodes.
How could Emmitt drive the car away towards the end when it had broken down?
Great characterisations. Loved Gloria and Nicky Swango and thought Ewan McGregor did a good job.
Not convinced by Varga's character. Speech defect seemed false. Typical hackneyed US view of the villain. Not to offend any minorities or other countries.....make him English.
I love Fargo. Thought season two was even better than the superb season one but having only seen the first three episodes of the latest one, whilst enjoying it, I didn't think it was anywhere near as good as the other two, much slower paced and not as funny/quirky although the p1ss montage made me laugh.

I enjoyed it. it started a bit slow, but really picked up after about 3 or 4 episodes. It had most of the usual Coen Brothers stock characters, including the gloriously over the top villain and the doughty and ostensibly plain, but extremely astute small town cop (in fact, we had two of them this time). As well as the hapless ordinary guys drawn into a world of chaos because of their own greed, stupidity, weakness or just very bad luck. I was a relatively late convert to the Coen Brothers, having not particularly enjoyed the original film, but they have grown on me over the years.

When I used the word "plain" it was more in the sense of unpretentious or down to earth, rather than a comment on attractiveness. By the way, the actor playing the deaf guy, was that the same one from the 1st series?
Enjoyed all 3 series but thought S3 ended on a bit of a cliffhanger. What happened to Varga? Did he walk or was he locked up?Found both the girls attractive but slight preference for Nicky https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/a6/83/7f/a6837
Nope this series didn't do it for me at all. Further more to Jacks point about Emmitt's car starting again surely he would of been questioned as to why his smashed up phone was at the scene ? Hoping to see Miss Swango naked was the only thing that kept me going. Oh hopefully the next series will be better, it's a bit like your favourite take away occasionally you get a dodgy one

Just got around to binge-watching this now that the turf racing's finished in the evenings.
Thoroughly enjoyed it. You're all overlooking the best thing about the Nicky Swango character: she actually learned to sign in order to communicate with the deaf dude.
What a girl.
Re Emmit leaving his phone at the scene ... would it have been traceable to him after he'd smashed it in anger at not getting a signal? And would Varga have allowed him to own a traceable phone anyway?
I didn't realize Varga was supposed to be British. I know Gloria referred to him as such, but I just assumed that that was because a Mid-Western American would think anyone with an un-American English accent was British. I'd watched it thinking he was a Slav who'd adopted a stilted form of colloquial English as part of an impossible-to-pin-down international disguise (Warga, pronounced "Varga", means "lip" in Polish).
But one of the problems of being deaf is that lipreading accents is hit-and-miss to say the least, so I'll take it that I was wrong on that one. The fact that the character had such disgusting lips, and mouth in general, didn't help.
