What is this BBC obsession, media in general I suppose, with equal pay for women.
I accept there is no reason why a woman doing exactly the same work to the same level should bot receive the same amount as a man. The campaign now seems to be that in all job sectors women and men should receive the same pay. Don't these people understand that even in the same factory, office, team there are wildly different pay levels.
They want equal pay for women footballers, that is simple, scrap women's football and see how the women can compete in the non sexist game - they have their equal pay, simples?
Now it is with BBC wages, surely whilst all the wages of talentless presenters not good enough for Sky make me sick inside, it is again dependant on market forces. I see today the crazy Sunday Times has dragged racist stereotypes into the debate! Again if these women had greater ability they would be poached and paid higher wages by other organisations - it is a market economy.
I work in an office, doing the same work as others on my level, and without blowing my own trumpet, to a much better standard. I have been at this level for 12 years and amazingly everyone is paid on a different scale depending on how long they have worked there. Most people earn much more than me (women included), why is the BBC not raising this issue for a basic job that a child could do?
If they want a communist society then just start a campaign to recall it. A market based society is based on economic demand.

As in my job now it's about quotas and not always about ability/suitability
I have applied for a job that am well qualified for (ticket sales in train station)
being doing job for fourteen years on shifts.
The job was a static Monday to Friday job lost out to eastern european women with no experience
she left applied again lost out to women who again had no experience(who left after 7 months)
and got the job on a family friendly basis i.e able to get home to pick kids up from school.
But we all equal

I understand that up to the age of about 30 women get paid more than men. Then they toddle off to breed, come back a few years later and are shocked to find they're now worth less than someone who has been working without a break.
Women models get paid more.
I guess that will have to stop too.

why is it sexiest when its pointed out that the men are earn more than the women. But antisemitic when someone identifies that the gentile women are earning far less than their Jewish counterparts.

Women models get paid more.
Is that true? I expect it is true for models but a lot of male modelling jobs are taken by sportsmen, and probably they charge a lot more to be photographed standing in a suit or looking at an expensive watch than does a specialist male model.
So at the top end of the market, if we compare female supermodels with male sportsmen being paid (or "sponsored") then who gets more money? I suspect it will be a close-run thing.
And at the bottom end, say in Chums trousers catalogues, are male models paid less than women?
