WINDOWS 10 UPDATES

Because 10 was rushed out to replace the carp that Microsoft created with Windows 8.

Sounds like a pain

And Microsoft is frantically patching the dozens of vulnerabilities revealed in the NSA leaks.

Its absolute Trash ,Going to start removing every unneeded prog and App from the Lap top I have .ASUS laptops are shyte dont buy one.

When I was considering "upgrading" to windows 10 for free, when I read that you coudln't switch updates off and they'd force them like it or not was enough for me to not do it.

It's just the typical arrogant microsoft-knows-best attitude I hate.

Other day I read they might do a forced upgrade that would remove Paint. Are they for real? Software nazis!

i reinstalled vista(revert to factory settings) to my laptop. it was slowing to a crawl.
i had free Gom media player in it before.
so after i installed it - i tried to play a video.
no sound? codec required.
my xp tower pc plays just fine with Gom.
eventually gom retreived a codec and i got the sound to play?

this shows up that Vista is not backward compliant.

every version from windows 3.1 thru to windows 10 has had the habit of
ignoring  the past programs of the past that needs windows to run on?
if you have an old program like a chess program or old version of photoshop
becomes incompatible? forcing you to buy the new versions. it's a rip off
conspiracy. by upgrading, you have to buy all new software across the board.

Its insane that windows 10 thinks it can do updates to your computer when ever it feels like it, regardless of the owners desire to use the computer.


It is quite easy too disable the windows 10 update to prevent it updating whenever it feels like it.

1) Open Task Manager ( If you can't do this then you don't know enough about computers to sensibly disable automatic updates )
2) Select the services tab
3) On the bottom of the services tab page select 'Open Services'
4) Scroll down to and right click on 'Windows Update', select the 'Properties' option from the pop up menu.
5) Change the start up type to 'Disabled'

Updates will be stopped, I recommend reversing the process and checking for updates every couple of months or so.

I resisted installing the free Windows 10 upgrade from my Windows 7 for a while, but eventually succumbed to their requests. Took the option of reverting back to Windows 7 after it completely wrecked my Microsoft Photo Editor which I have never been able to get back. Photo Editor was great - tried re-installing, but to no avail. Looks like something was corrupted in the registry, although apart from that, everything else seems to be ok.

Windows 7 - I'm sticking with it, at least until I replace my desktop with a new PC. Hanging on to this one as long as possible!

an idea operating system

1 - a good firewall that you can tweek yourelf.
2 - an incorruptible revertion to any date, one that cannot be got at.
3 - backward compatibilty to all pc programs.
4  - stable.
5 - a reset key - press reset and the machine auto returns to factory settings.
6 - built in virus scanner - settings tweeked by user
7 - drop all automatic bs.
8 - kill the helper in word.
9 - a good video player
10 - a ram boost program.

Will give that a Go escapee,TY   ,Hardly use the Lap top every time I turn the Fooker there is some Update shyte Going On

first thing to do when you get a machine turn off updates,
turn off connect to remote computer, check the firewall is on?
do a scan for walware. set a restore point.

then go to the shed and get a big mallet and threaten the
computer with violence if it trys anything.
