This happened in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.

Sheffield, lest we forget, is the city that gave us the Bessemer Process/Sheffield Steel, Thornton's, Pulp, Jack Rosenthal and forty years of 'late night Crucible drama' amongst many other fantastic things. A city which has enriched and improved this country for just about everyone.

In more recent times though, the city itself has been 'culturally enriched' by a radio station named IMAM FM…. although it would perhaps be an exaggeration to call it the 'Home of the Hits'.  I don't think Diddy David H has ever anchored a 'Drivetime' show there.

The pop-pickers who tune into this 'Community' radio station will now have to find an alternate station on their FM dial, because IMAM FM has lost its broadcasting licence following an OFCOM investigation.

The evidence beggars belief.

The station broadcast 25 HOURS of 'lectures' from a former alleged Al-Qaeda Leader. Suffice to say, the lectures did not concern home-making, flower-arranging or peace, love and understanding.

You would think that the listeners would have been appalled by these broadcasts, and glad to be rid of this poison polluting impressionable minds. Right?

Wrong. Around 300 listeners (to date) are fully supportive of IMAM FM. They've even started a petition to restore IMAM FM's licence. The petitioners say that the stations's "content has always been exemplary".

The listeners needn't worry. There'll surely be another similar 'Community' station coming along soon enough, spouting the same poison.

In the meantime, they can (and probably will) doubtless find many more hours of similar 'lectures' on the Internet. Not 'arf.

There are many other links out there on this story, but they contain the magic 'M' word which normally means censorship.

That's a genetic problem, but some religions and some countries have more genetic problems than others.
Who could deny that ?

You see every country will produce bad things, that is the very nature of many countries. However some countries , very few, despite this, become great and beautiful and free like England.
Or as England once was.

If we look at the world today, we would have to fear the very great dangers in some religions.
Every sensitive person could see that.

breedingmad it has been England's job to tame and civilise religion, I don't see any point in inviting in a more dangerous one without even some of the good things such as Christmas carols, and having to try and civilise that.
It's too much trouble.

The station broadcast 25 HOURS of 'lectures' from a former alleged Al-Qaeda Leader.

Yet Breedingmad judging from his extremist stance here, should be asked if he supports all that the station had its licence withdrawn for?
