15 years too late, the Guardian laments the departure of Angus Deayton. If he were still there, they'd attack the show for being stale, male and pale, or whatever the saying is.

Perhaps people have finally tired of the same jokes every show, viewing figures have gone down in recent weeks. No matter if it's days are numbered, plenty of BBC radio panel shows to employ em to do the same old stuff.

Paul Merton staring into space continually, mumbling 6 or 7 indifferent lines of 'comedy' per show is surely a work of comedy genius, which we will all get, one day in the future.

it's 10 years past its sell by date, angus much like Clarkson on Top Gear, were what made the show tick. Whether you liked them or not most wanted to hear their opinion because they were honest and honest in a funny way.

I am sure, for many, there is a big credibility gap.
We all know they know the questions beforehand, but sometimes the way the guests answer with the correct answer out of nowhere is cringeworthy - as is the embarrassment they clearly feel.

The last time they made me laugh was when Roy Hattersley failed to turn up and was replaced with a tub of lard. Mildly interesting when Victoria Coren Mitchell is in the chair.

HIGNFY was once an excellent programme, it is now almost unwatchable it's so bad. Now just another lefty propaganda outlet for the BBC. Woeful and unfunny, Merton and Hislop have become what they once parodied.

I was always surprised at how merciless Merton and Hislop were on that first show after he was caught, wouldn't you have thought that really off air they were all friends and it was just a bit of an act to have constant digs back and forth, but seems they really hated him.

Toss up between this and The Last leg to decide which formerly funny Friday night light entertainment show has disappeared furthest up it's own 'right on' backside.
Used to be great in their 'let's have a go at everyone and let God sort 'em out' approach but now?
'Trumps and idiot..... Farage and UKIP are idiots..... Brexit is wrong.....'
Comedy-by-numbers boreathons

I used to love it, it and every other comedy show are now the same: Trump is bad, The Tories are bad, Brexit is bad, Brexit voters are racist .. "jokes".
There is a new current affairs comedy show being heavily advertised on the BBC starting tommorow, the Mash Report, does anyone expect it to not be the exact same unfunny totally predictable uninspired crud? No doubt anyone contributing will be carefully selected to exceed some diversity/gender quoatas.

Mash Report looks like a tame version of Frankie's program. That was the week that was... Is it just rehash BS, repeated over and over till a meteor hits the BBC.
Is there no way to breakout of this pattern?
they applaud it when a show runs for thirty or forty years? I despair at it? Eastenders coronation street Doctor who
the sky at night is at least a once the month event and it carries information, its valid. these soaps are insipid BS filler like wallpaper.
Still no movie station from the BBC? Ch4 can afford it?
