An eye-catching appointment indeed, and long-overdue.
Many see Roy as a permanently over-stressed scruffy middle-aged male cafe owner with the troubles of the world on his shoulder, and whose hobbies include solo draughts and reading a 99p dictionary.
But as we all know, it's gender identification that counts (apparently). Deep down Roy has always perceived himself as a farm girl with a penchant for dressing up in sexy eye-catching women's outfits and generally using her Amazonian build and street-fighting skills to right the wrongs of the planet. I for one can't wait to see him sort out ISIS single-handed in a spectacular scarlet corset and killer heels.
Make no mistake, this appointment will be a real winner with the teenage girl fans.
