While I respect and sympathise with those with disabilities, and I include paralympians, and I admire their desire to play sport, I find it uncomfortable viewing, so I don't watch it. Simples innit!

Yes Dr put the point is it shouldn't be on our screens in the first place.

A pet subject! I agree 100% with Slicer. If I was disbaled I'd love it, but elite sport it's not and never will be - so don't treat it like it is.
I would add that para sport can never be on level terms - Why can't able bodied people enter a wheelchair race for example? The lack or partial lack of a leg cannot be a disadvantage when you're using your arms; and who's to say a highly engineered set of blades doen't confer an advantage?  All complete nonsense - albeit great healthy fun for those competing.

There are so many OTHER channels to chose from, I feel that allowing the disabled to show what they can do for a few weeks a year on tv is not the end of the world. Perhaps the Beeb should put it on a red button channel rather than the main channels so that hard hearted able bodied peeps stop complaining about where the licence fee goes.

Not dissimilar to Womens cricket. The standard is that of a boys under 13 schoolboys match yet due to political correctness it is put on par by the BBC/SKY of that as the mens game. Madness!

Be much better if they had a Wheeler Dealer where Mike Brewer bought a clapped out NHS wheelchair and Ed China fettled it into a Wimbledon winning outfit.

I have to say that it gives Handicap races a whole new meaning.

Agree with twizzle,
This is a very minority sport.
And typical of the BBC, to broadcast what they think they think we should watch rather than what we want to watch.

The corporation needs privatising as soon as possible.

I think it's unfair that the person pushing them around during the match doesn't get a medal too.

Minorities rule. Apparently.

I just hope when it rains, the umpire still says, 'ladies and gentlemen, play is suspended'.

The BBC's sport coverage has been decimated in recent years. What have they got left Wimbledon, Olympics, that's about it. Not even the Open any more.

Instead they try to kid us that we're all really interested in disabled sport, women's football and cricket because noone else wants to show them so they're cheap.

Id rather watch it than another episode of Citizen Khan or Mrs' Browns Boys.
