It's a slippery slope.
Report ufcdan July 4, 2017 11:08 PM BST
Just watched Newsnight, as usual there was a politician (ex ambassador) going on about the immigrants human rights in the meantime the local Itailians moaning about the influx of migrants. The politicians need to wake up or there will be unrest throughout Europe. While these peoples plight is a desperate one. There is enough hardship in Europe especially Italy, Greece, Spain and Portugal. There is trouble on the horizon Mischief

judging by the amount of preggers ones in the boat
Only way forward is birth control imo limit them all to one or none
for a few generations to get the equilibrium back.
Any different ideas ?

After looking at how desperate Europe is for foreign and young workers, I dont think anyone would to lowering their fertility rates. Especially if Europeans are the ones preaching it.

Report detraveller July 5, 2017 10:04 PM BST
For instance, no civilisation has ever survived with a fertility rate as low as Germany's. Its quite possible Merkel knew it and simply handed over the country to the hghest bidder?
Report dambuster July 5, 2017 10:25 PM BST
Where will Merkle and all the leftie luvvies go, when it does kick off ?  ,AND IT WILL
Report scandanavian_haven July 5, 2017 11:09 PM BST
Merkel is a very compassionate women, one of the great lady's of the 21st century.
Report twizzle22 July 6, 2017 6:34 AM BST
Contraire..she is the architect of one of the worst decisions ever made by a European leader. The discombobulation Merkel has managed to achieve in Europe is simply staggering .It will all end catastrophically badly...that.. i'm sure we are all aware of.
Report saddo July 6, 2017 10:21 AM BST
She may be compassionate scandy, but twizzle is also correct. The continent has not stopped changing for the worse since the day she opened the borders to anyone. If it does end up very badly, her compassion is not what she'll be remembered for.
Report lfc1971 July 6, 2017 10:31 AM BST
It is very important not to elect as leader someone who pretends to be compassionate.
Report lfc1971 July 6, 2017 10:40 AM BST
A leader must do what is best for his or her own citizens , not people from a different country. That is the burden of leadership.
Everywhere must take care of itself so that everyone can be free and easy everywhere.
Who could deny that?

Everywhere must take care of itself so that everyone can be free and easy everywhere

And when I use the same logic to say that we should not involve ourselves in america's wars, especially when they aren't remotely a threat, suddenly there is a moral duty to help the rest of the world, right?
Report detraveller July 6, 2017 11:10 AM BST
Its never as easy as you say about leadership. How many countries today have a leader who's strings aren't being pulled by someone else? I think the times of having leaders and the leaders working for their own poeple come what may are long gone. It seems to me now that there are certain mafias, groups, and businessmen who have the democratic system by the balls and use it to get their own clown in who works for them and on the side, deals with the shet the rest of the politicians throw at him.
Report moisok July 6, 2017 12:25 PM BST
we need to stop the invasion
Report Foinavon July 6, 2017 1:10 PM BST
The politicians haven't got a clue what to do about it. Those who opened the floodgates didn't consider the law of unintended consequences.
Report lfc1971 July 6, 2017 1:16 PM BST
detraveller what is good for America is good for the world. Now Merkel is a communist, when you understand that it would be a good starting point.
Report lfc1971 July 6, 2017 1:20 PM BST
She is also German, and they have an uncanny knack of f*cking everything up.
Report lfc1971 July 6, 2017 1:23 PM BST
They were fine certainly, for a period of time after the war when they were being told what to do by America.
Japan was the same. Now of course they are resorting to type.
Report detraveller July 6, 2017 1:44 PM BST
So you are contradicting your own statement now? Everywhere must take care of itself so that everyone can be free and easy everywhere. You say what is good for America is good for the world. Countries that listen to America do good, but when they start doing what they want to do, they go wrong like Germany. But still according to you everyone must be free and take care of itself? What sort of double standards is that?
Report detraveller July 6, 2017 1:46 PM BST
Basically you want everyone to be free and take care of itself but while they do that, they must follow what America tells them to?
Report lfc1971 July 6, 2017 1:57 PM BST
well it`s like this, America can only offer advice. If other countries do not want to listen to that good advice that is fine. Everywhere must take care of itself.
Its a bit much not to listen to Americas good advice, and then complain when things go wrong.
I can`t explain it any clearer than that detraveller.
Report lfc1971 July 6, 2017 2:01 PM BST
Now if I could give an example, S.Korea listened to Americas good advice, and N.Korea did not.
I suppose some people would say that N.Korea were quite right not to listen to the US.
anythings possible.
Report detraveller July 6, 2017 2:12 PM BST
So Everyone must take care of itself AND listen to America's good advice.
Report detraveller July 6, 2017 2:15 PM BST
How do you explain Brexit then? Obama clearly advised the people not to vote leave. People didn't listen. Is that why the UK is in trouble these days? But then UK should take care of itself so that everyone can be free and easy. They did exactly that, took care of themselves and did what they wanted.

I am still struggling with the contradiction in your statements.
Report lfc1971 July 6, 2017 2:56 PM BST
They don't have to listen, and America should not be offended in the least.
Obama and Brexit ? everyone is entitled to a point of view, you see there is no harm done if Obama states his point of view the important thing is that we listen and make our decisions, and the important thing is that in Britain, like  America we have the democratic process .
So we are quite in agreement with that, I am talking about countries that do not have democracy and do not have the same freedoms , if they don't listen there is not much to be done about that.
Report Dr Crippen July 6, 2017 2:58 PM BST
Anybody know what detraveller is on about?
Report lfc1971 July 6, 2017 3:09 PM BST
Could anything that detraveller writes make sense? not very easily .
It's not a question of a difference of opinion, that's fine that's what we like.
But when detraveller writes it's not a matter of that, it's all very senseless.
