think they have to plug it, they know no sane person watches it, like womens football/cricket featuring on bbc breakfast sports news.

it's utter crappola. when i watched tom baker in the 70's, he wasn't this enabled science god figure. he could barely manage to work the box. now it's pinpoint control and he has all the answers. it's too slick, it's a science wet dream. control of everything by scientific means. Gay stories, les bean pronouncements. it's not content to be a science fiction story anymore, it's teaching from a pulpit.
Report dave1357 • July 3, 2017 8:22 PM BST
its a daft tv show that gets viewers, zorro, you're the one in a pulpit every day here.
Report zorrostrikes • July 4, 2017 3:51 AM BST
i saw the latest eps on catchup.. cybermen on crosses, the science professor giving a sermon on good to the master, it was loaded with sermons. As always he falls through a volcano and comes out the shining knight. Science has all the answers. just have faith in science.

How many times did they mention that times Lords can change into the opposite sex, I wonder what that all means Mischief

it would be good if the doctor came back as a dalek

one of them red ones from way back when

then he wouldnt be able to get into the tardis and the
council would have to fit a new door for him

I, Doctor Who
Report casemoney • July 4, 2017 2:12 PM BST

You are right, Dusty but the great British public enjoy watching all sorts of shoite.

They just had to introduce a Lebanese into this didn't they. Good ole Beeb. The next Dr may well be a one legged black Chinese transgender Jewish convert to Islam. I think that includes all minorities, ethnic and otherwise!
Report saddo • July 4, 2017 4:30 PM BST
Minorities have to be over-represented on all television these days. We have to be seen to actively encourage them all, being tolerant of differences is no longer enough.
Report Slicer • July 4, 2017 4:34 PM BST
The reason the UK is in the state its in is because there has been too much tolerance!
Report Foinavon • July 4, 2017 4:39 PM BST
And too much self-loathing, Dr S.
Report Slicer • July 4, 2017 4:40 PM BST
Precisely!

Too much guilt, too much belief that we are the cause of the rest of the world's problems and that any problems we suffer today are justified payback.

Stopped watching Dr. Who after William Hartnell left the show.
Report zorrostrikes • July 5, 2017 4:17 AM BST
christmas show has Hartnell back? well a pretend Hartnell.

Is tom baker still going - get him fit, and get him to do it again.
get him off his sofa, ply him with booze and do it. lazy fker.

or

get Pertwees son Sean - send in the SAS to America, extract Sean and
get him to wear a purple velvet smoking jacket and karate chop some
immigrant alien fkers off our glorious planet.

no to Lebanese doctor - they are from the wrong period in time.

Trouble is the Doctor has turned into a soldier -- something that has been mentioned in the programme itself.

In the old days, he'd defeat the enemy by tricking them, or luring them into a trap -- and over the course of several weeks so there was a build up of tension with both the Doctor and his companions (often more than one) in real peril. Now there is a lot of standing around talking while the Doctor explains the plot, no sense of danger to the main characters, and a climax with a lot of explosions.

Though probably me being several decades older is not helping here. It is often said that you can tell a person's age by their favourite Doctor.
