The cost of sports rights has spiralled in recent years with Sky paying £4.2bn in its latest Premier League TV deal – 83% more than the previous deal and almost £11m per game – while viewing has dropped significantly.

Nothing to do with streaming devices then?

But is it overkill like snooker etc in previous years

Maybe im getting old but i used to look forward to certain events on tele
never miss a game etc.But now with so much sport on you often can't be bothered
it has become not important.

If you google you will find an article written about it in the Guardian, and Mirror I think.

If it happens it will be a change of policy.

It will make things interesting.  Whatever, it is, it should be better than the current system.

Haven't delved into the detail, but at first glance it looks like you choose Football 1 OR football 2 OR cricket OR golf etc. etc.
So if you want ALL sports, you'll end up paying for each channel?

I'd guess the charge per sport would be less after the first, so that it would be less than the current cost.

Cancelled my Virgin TV package(including sky sports) about a month ago. Don't miss it at all. Watched the Lions match and England U21's on Cricfree without any problems.
