''Mayor of London Sadiq Khan backs amnesty on illegal immigrants who lived in Grenfell Tower at time of fire''

It is against the law to rent property to people without making the proper checks to see if their presence in the country is legal.
So he proposes to grant an amnesty to illegal immigrants, and also the people who gave these illegals  the keys without checking their status?

''Buy-to-let landlords must check the immigration status of new tenants from today or face fines of up to £3,000''
This is Money.co.uk.

So Khan is now proposing to overlook illegal activities from private landlords who are subletting council property, which in itself is illegal.

Yet here Khan was calling for tighter regulations on private landlords?

The man is all over the place, and he's simply playing to the gallery now as he was then.

It's no wonder the Calais mob are so intent on getting in here. Break laws and get paid for it, they know how stupid we are.

Quite probable, though I do not know. We are constantly told we cannot afford to look after our own, by the same people who are happy to throw our money at immigrants. Madness, and surely the public will not tolerate it for ever.

I have to confess there would be an unsportsman like conduct out of fingering malpractice found as a result of travesty.

Its akin to the police trying everyones front door and walking in just to test they were 'burlgar aware' and finding a cannabis plant in the front room or something.
