You're probably right. I was just astonished at how short McGregor is.
I don't know much about MMA but I think CMcG has a big following. Maybe it's the support from his fans keeping the price low. I certainly wouldn't pay to see it and I won't go to a pub to watch it either but if it was on free-to-air TV I would. (Although, tbf, there's not much compeition on a Saturday night unless you want to watch repeats of Lewis or Foyle's War.) |

I remember back in the 70's when Ali fought a Kung Fu guy. The Kung Fu guy spent most of the fight on the floor trying to entice Ali down. Complete farce they called it a draw.

Inoki - he was a Japanese wrestler.
The story goes that it was agreed to be stage managed but at the last minute Ali changed his mind, fearing he'd be double-crossed and lose. They then agreed to make it a proper fight but Inoki was scared of Ali so he spent most of the fight on the floor kicking out at his legs. Ali landed only six punches; it was a complete bore and declared and a draw. Ali did sustain nast injuries to his legs (blood clots) and spent some time in hospital when he returned to the US. |

The undercard holds more interest for me
AJ Vs Alan Carr GGG Vs Basil Brush Katie Taylor Vs Diane Abbott |

mayweather is 40 now. nobody can go on forever and he has been hit in his previous fights. he's also admitted he's done "No training" since he announced his retirement. meanwhile McG is an animal who trains every single day. McGregor has got a chance and the smart money will be on him.
|
|
By:
people saying Mayweather will school him. well, McGregor is a very smart fighter who's never been "schooled", not in striking anyway. Boxing's different but this isn't Mayweather in his prime. this is an old and hittable Mayweather & McGregor punches very accurately. just ask Eddie Alvarez, Nate Diaz, etc.

Agree with Brendan ,The Taylor Abbot fight should be a cracker

Lol at betting_masta. Marquez, canelo, pacman etc are future hall of famers and couldnt get near mayweather but you're tipping a guy who has never even had a pro boxing fight to beat him.
He's 40 but is always in incredible condition before the training camp starts Mayweather himself was saying he was oldand finished before he schooled Hatton 10 years ago. Mayweather is 1.01 shot and a mcgregor victory would be the biggest sporting upset since David met goliath |

Ill watch the 24/7s but the fight doesn't interest me at all. It will be more boring than the pac fight

Let's just take this for what it obviously is, two men and their management manufacturing a totally staged event to generate massive profits from a gullible audience. McGregor has almost no chance of winning in the boxing ring and Mayweather would have even less against McGregor in a cage fight.
I think it will be arranged for McGregor to get disqualified for breaking the rules somehow so everyone saves face and they walk away happy with their millions. Good luck to them, they won't be getting any of my money. |

Heard or read somewhere today that ringside seats are going for $83,000
![]() Also read ppv in UK somewhere between £90 and £110, but only a rumoured figure. I'll just wait for the news the following morning, just out of interest. |

King Louis is right. Its a drama. Entertainment. And of a pretty bad standard. It is a disgrace to the sport if you ask me. But the world is about money and these two are gonna end up richer by millions at the end of this.

By:
They're forecasting seven million PPV sales worldwide; that's $700m

they are friends just taking the public on for a big pay day

The draw seems excellent value for what is an exhibition fight..
|
|
By:
The fight should have been alternate rounds of boxing and MMA.
