Sometimes the "cure" is worse than the condition. Fortunately for me, Loratadine provides some degree of relief without as yet any noticeable adverse effects.

If you are thinking of using OTC medication for the first time then you should consult the pharmacist and read the leaflet before using it. If he has any doubts he will advise consulting your GP.
I think most people are just giving personal anecdotes which don't constitute a recommendation to use. |

I've snivelled a bit but nowhere near as bad as other years. I ordered 6 months supply of Loratadine and have taken tablets daily for the past 6 weeks.
Have a read of this http://www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Hay-fever/Pages/Treatment.aspx While there are many brands there is usually only 3 types of tablets. Don't be fooled by TV adverts of one brand being superior. If something works for you then buy the generic make, I bought 6 months supply of Loratadine (which is non drowsy) for £4.79 delivered. Here's the link where I purchased from although may not be available anymore: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/loratadine-6-months-supply-6-x-30-4-79-with-free-delivery-pharmacyfirst-2638334 |

That's very cheap Ovalman. I buy a box of 14 tablets from Tesco for £1-80. If you buy the posh box (Claritin)? it would cost several times more.

Your basically paying for the brand name. Loratadine is the drug name, Clarityn is just a brand that spends millions on advertising and why is costs more. As above, consult a doctor or pharmacist but they will tell you the same. I stocked up for 6 months supply, done this for a few years now but this year I actually remember to take a tablet each day. Oh and the tablets are BBE 2018 or 2019 so your not getting near out of date stuff for that price. |

Just checked, 06/2019 is the Best Before Date and 6 months supply is 180 tablets.

I attack from 3 angles, eye drops, nasal spray (beconase) and Loratadine. = almost normal life most of the summer.

The £1-80 is for Tesco own brand Loratadine, I would never pay for the brand name box.

Eat honey from local beehives - the closer to where you live the better
Expect to pay £4 a jar but miles cheaper than buying medicines And it actually works I get mine from a beekeeper 800m away Have it on toast every day during autumn, winter and spring and also in yoghurt |

It's the eyes, the itchiness of the eyes is something else, you rub, it gets worse, usually okay by July.

used to get it - don't any more.
I was taking contact 400 for months at a time. blowing out jars of snot. i was desperate and heard high doses of vit c might help - I started taking Vit c tablets, only it's not vitamin c. I was taking ascorbic acid(this is not true vitamin c) vitamin c is a complex?(see video) I did get rid of 98 percent of what I had but I cannot say how? was it the acid effect or the vit c? i would put a 1000mg effervescent tablet into a two litre bottle of water with some oj. it tasted crappy. but i stuck with it for months. it was a steady drip. not all at once. vitamin c is hard to store in the body. if you take it all in the morning it'll be gone by night time. I still take it now, once a week? not sure its the same as twenty years ago? citric acid, ascorbic acid, and twenty other ingredients. Vitamin C can be got by adding Lemon Juice to a glass of OJ or apple juice. Or by adding a dash of apple cider vinegar to apple juice(tastes like a flat cider) Forget the pills - you need Vitamin c. Natural is best? good video - available on youtube too. https://www.drberg.com/blog/body-conditions/the-best-and-worst-vitamin-c YOU MUST stick with it for a few weeks at least. maybe months. Maybe it's the acidifying of the body, perhaps Vit C isn't the cure but a needless ingredient. I'm not sure. But I'm glad it's gone. |
