Nigel Farage could become a bargaining chip in talks between the DUP and the Conservatives.
Theresa May wants the support of the Democratic Unionist Party to form a coalition.
But the Northern Irish party reportedly wants Farage to be brought into Brexit negotiations.
‘They hold a few cards,’ a source told the Sunday Times. ‘They want Farage as a lord or a role in government or he and Arron will put something together that will cause trouble for May.’

So they haven't actually said that other than a journalist quoting 'a source'. So not really a source is it?

One think that really upset me when my mother died of cancer at age 54 was the amount she had saved - all about £400 of it to show for all her hard work.  Maybe she had to work because of my father's betting, I do not know.

Report screaming from beneaththewaves • June 12, 2017 12:48 AM BST
Marriage and betting are a difficult combination.

Right up until his eighties I used to meet up with my dad for every meeting at Newbury. We used to have a chat over a cup of tea before racing, then viewed the horses in the parade ring together, but other than that he was happy for me to go off and do my own thing. He did insist, though, that whatever I backed I had to put a fiver on for him, or a tenner, if I thought something was a really good bet.

The only time I ever deviated from that rule was for the Mares' Final in March 1994. I joined him in the stands before the off and told him I'd placed £20 for him on Go Mary at 33/1 (the mare should have been second or third fav, but being owned, bred and trained by an unknown Welsh lady called Cherry Phillips her form was ignored).

My dad took note, mumbled something about needing to go to the toilet, and disappeared, only to reappear a few moments later among the bookies. He was pressing the bet up in a fashion I don't think he had ever done before. At the age of 75 he had decided that this, finally, was the time to bet like a man.

As Go Mary held on from the Twiston Davies gamble, it was the only time ever that we embraced, hugged, call it what you will. I think he'd got back everything he'd frittered away in betting shops or on the track over the years, and basically was going to exit the game in front.

The postscript came a few months later. Like any gambler he knew the golden rule of keeping your successes to yourself, and particularly of keeping them from your missus. So it came to pass that one day, while my mother was struggling with the ancient hoover which for years my dad had refused point-blank to replace, she accidentally lifted up the carpet on his side of the bed and noticed a bulge in the underlay. She lifted up the underlay and, to her astonishment, found several thousand pounds in cash lying there.

To her credit she had the good sense first to take a handful of it and nip down Rumbelows to order a new hoover. Only then did she get down to the business of making my dad's life an utter misery over the affair for the rest of his days.

Recent election shows the North is totally polarized in the electorate. DUP 10 seats, SF 7 seats, Independent 1 seat. All middle of the road parties were wiped out in the June election.
Even the geographical spread of the seats is split with the DUP holding Belfast and further North, SF holding all Border counties with Republic and mid rural ulster. Not much common ground between both communities.
People hoped the younger generation would move on and put their differences behind them, but the results show both sides have hardened further the other way, which is a pity.

Report FredRescue • June 13, 2017 11:30 PM BST
Which is why ROI have stuffed up by committing themselves to the EU. They should have at least shown signs of waivering about staying in the EU before BREXIT negotiations begun. That way EU would be scared to stick up a hard boarder for fear of Ireland exiting too.

Now EU knows they can do anything they want that damages ROI and they will just roll over and take it.... again
