I thought Corbyn had won - well you would have thought so from his celebratory stance after the results came out!

Dangerous times now for our economy, lots of uncertainty, the last thing we need. Go back to the 70's and recall the mess that we ended the decade in. Glad the SNP are on their way out by the looks of it though, can't understand why a nationalist EPH party can be lauded by the media.

Jeremy done very very well , he connected with people especially the young and people who are sick and tired of the deeply unjust Austerity agenda peddled by the tories
Report treetop • June 13, 2017 12:40 PM BST
Corbyn got four more seats than Labour did in 2010 ?
Report anxious • June 13, 2017 12:44 PM BST
Do you not agree that the electorate rejected Austerity ?

For the life of me I don't know why he didn't offer free beer for all the workers since ultimately, they would have been the ones paying for it all.

Reminds me of an old joke. Guy goes into a Tyre suppliers and and ask the price of a particular brand, manager says they're 80 Quid each mate,..80! they're only 60 down the road,.....manager says why did you not buy them there then?, guy replies, they haven't got any at the moment, manager immediately chirps up, when we haven't got any they're only 40 quid!. Laugh

The giveaway is easy if you don't have to deliver!.Grin
Report dustybin • June 13, 2017 2:19 PM BST
Alternatively, 60 quid man offers decent value and sells out while 80 quid man left with stock he cant shift until 60 quid man sell outs.
Report dustybin • June 13, 2017 2:22 PM BST
Though I get the gist, you can offer anything in opposition...but then all do change when they get eected anyway.

I must admit, although I didnt vote I would be curious to see exactly how far Corbyn would have gone and how the economy played out as a result.
Ive said it a few times that I believe every generation has to see socialism fail before they accept it doesnt work....I as yet havnt seen it fail so am on the fence.

anxious, the problem I have is who in any party can you trust,? I have lost faith in them all, but as I stated earlier a bigger majority for May would have been a disaster for many people in this country, so I'm delighted  robopolitician didn't get it.

Zero hours contracts, imported cheap labour driving wages down etc, the inequality gap has never been wider since the 70s, and the 'trickle down' lie is now exposed. I really despair.

Despite all that I couldn't dream of voting for the la la land politics of the present shadow cabinet. Just my honest opinion. I'm not saying I'm right or wrong, just expressing my opinion. I really want a break from politics as I'm sick of the lot of them, so perhaps I should have a break from these futile freds. Plain

Certainly lost faith in May, and now this deal with the DUP. To be fair, I imagine a great many Tory members are uneasy about this. And now John Major urges May to pull out of DUP deal over risk of violence returning to N.Ireland. She won't listen to the electorate she won't listen to John Major !

Report Foinavon • June 13, 2017 4:32 PM BST
She shouldn't listen to Major or any of the other has-beens like Heseltine, Blair and Ken Clarke. They have had their day and should STFU.
Report dustybin • June 13, 2017 4:45 PM BST
It will be a case of the 'Ides of March', we all know she's finished and bringing Gove back doent exactly help her case, its just a timing thing.
Bumbling Boris wont be drawn until there is a blood lust and that wont happen perhaps until autumn, until such time the Tories arnt in a position to create a new persona and therefore the backbenchers will hold off killing her off.

Bat your own wicket.
Be as good as you can and expect nothing from anyone.

Work with your brain and not with your hands.

The tories, and probably the elctorate, have no choice but to stick with May for now.Nobody wants another election, the population at large are sick and tired of politics and the  intense analysis, discussion and campigning that ensues.May will be hurting but maybe that is no bad thing to ensure she listens to a range of inputs within her party rather than unelected spin doctors.
Report anxious • June 13, 2017 8:58 PM BST
Its Chairman May that is at fault for all this , she called the election with breathtaking arrogance and contempt for the people , she thought it was an easy victory and 80- 100 majority , she ran an awful campaign was found wanting under pressure and now cobbles a deal with the DUP, the only group where the tories got more votes was the over 70s, like i said before its only a matter of time
