Watched some of this a couple of days ago.  I am sure the wet weather hasn't helped.

100-150 mph round bends and within inches of kerbs, walls, buildings and over manhole covers, road markings etc.....

They may be adults but probably immature reckless adults that are surrounded by bad advisors.
TT Racing must bring in millions of pounds to the Isle of Man economy but is it really worth it in the end considering all the death and carnage and bad publicity annually it causes.

Motorcyclists remain the most vulnerable road users, accounting for 21% of all road deaths in Great Britain in 2015.  365 motorcyclists lost their lives, the equivalent of one per day.  This was an increase of 8% from 2014, and contrasts with the general downward trend for fatalities among most other road users (for example the number of fatalities among car occupants was down 5%; pedestrians 9% and cyclists 12%).

The number of seriously injured motorcyclists decreased by 5% (to 5042); however the figures were an increase of 4% from 2013 levels.  The number of slightly injured motorcyclists also decreased by 1% to 14,511, though 2015 was still above the 2010-2014 average for overall injuries to motorcyclists.

Oh so they are immature and reckless in your opinion and you have decided they are not fit to make their own decisions and so you want to take away their freedom of choice.

If you want to do 150mph on a motorbike do it on a race track.
Why don't they build a world class state of the art motor cycle race track on the Isle of Man, they would still have the annual spectacle of racing to look forward to but in a more controlled safer environment. ?

It's not just the drivers. How many injured motorbikes do they have to put down?

A sad waste of life - platitudes like 'he died doing what he loved' are no consolation to kids who have lost their dad. Many of the fatalities over the years are fans who are allowed to ride the course on mad sunday or spectators who are in the wrong place when a competitors comes off the rode.

In 1967 we went on our honeymoon to the Isle of Man and didn't realise until we got on the boat that it was TT week. The sun shone all week and Mike Hailwood rode a magnificent treble beating the great Agostini. It was a great spectacle but very scary watching the riders flash through Douglas. You don't realise how dangerous it is until you see it live. sadly two competitors died that week. Glad we saw it though.

If you watch the footage from a bike mounted cam of the full circuit it's terrifying. When you saw Hailwood, I think his was the first to record a 100mph+ average lap time. They are currently lapping at over 130mph average over a 37 mile circuit.

It is hard to explain. People just have different assessments of risk. But as said they are adults and have the choice. Slightly better chance of surviving their chosen interest than a Muslim with a knife in London though.
