I wondered after this Manchester thing that was far bigger and will have had more drastic injuries ... how is it taking them so long to put the relatives of "missing people" with the victims, and now it's the same thing with this London attack?
It's not like there are 100s involved. Pretty much everyone in the country must be aware now of like the Spanish guy who fought with a skateboard and missing Australian woman and so on. Why the + are relatives stilll apparently in the dark and having to push and beg for info? It's now 3 days later, for gods sake. How hard can it be to organise these things quickly and efficiently. Is nobody in the authorities watching the news? It appears totally ridiculous that as a country we can't sort out something that seems so simple more quickly, and they are "missing"?
Are you aware that in the UK there are approx 750 people per day that disappear, and that's an average in times of peace... http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/the-missing-each-year-275000-britons-disappear-1801010.html
Not really relevant here petraco. These people were placed at the scene. The authorities could clarify by saying "we have unidentified victims in hospital", or, "we don't and they really are missing."

coroner's procedures are still apparently very old fashioned. they only accept the likes of dna, dental records or finger prints as proof of identification. drivers licence or bank card won't do so even if they're 99% certain they don't release the name officially
in this instance most of the dead appear to be foreign nationals so that will inevitably delay matters
