Hislop is decent value overall but predictable. Merton is the modern-day Peter Cook. Wonderfully surreal and inventive straight off the top of his head. But yes, it is a bit hit and miss -- mainly miss -- but that comes with the territory. Fwiw, I think he's been better this series but that's without seeing last night's. |
