Neil had got nothing to lose. He was simply trying to put the questions. While Farron was trying to stop him from asking them.

Showing fear of someone asking questions about your policies is worse than not answering them.

Farron managed to do both at the same time.

Surely Farron's job as Lib/Dem leader after the election will be on the line after that performance.

Farron made a lousy job of the whole interview.

Neil's point that the Lib/Dems would oppose any deal should the terms of that deal be put to a second referendum was particularly damaging.

Especially after Farron had argued that the EU deal should go to a second referendum.

Farron snookered himself some time ago when he said he would fight tooth and nail to avert Brexit.

He's a sitting duck now, he knows he is, and it shows.
