True story: I was in a taxi in Haines, Alaska, a few years ago heading to the ferry terminal. The driver had the CD of At Fillmore East playing. I said: "Ah, At Fillmore East."
He pulled over, tears in his eyes. "Twenty years of doing this job, I play this every day - never had a passenger who named it." He refused to take money from me when we arrived.
