Most cooker problems you can fix yourself and parts are readily available .Google the issue/symptoms,watch a few videos then have a stab at it.

If your electrics won't stand scrutiny they'll refuse to fit it even if you pay.

I can imagine what they'd be like if you hadn't paid anything at all.

You might as well get something decent - you're going to have to use it for at least the next ten years.

Depends what's gone but most cookers are very easy and cheap to fix yourself. The heating ring in our cooker blew and was as simple as changing a plug and a £12 electric element online.

Is it the oven, grill or hob that has failed?

If it's everything, it may just be the dedicated cooker, 20amp fuse that has tripped!

There isn't much to a cooker when you break one apart. Maybe a couple of fans, a couple of little thermostat cut-off switches, a thermocouple or two, heating elements and a metre or so of rockwool insulation, maybe a circuit board if there is an LCD display.

Why not just give up the Fray Bentos pies ?

Takeaways or pot noodles... no need for an oven at all these days.

go to a charity shop - i have a huge one on my doorstep - they sell cookers all the time, charge £15 for delivery of large items.
