i took one pill yesterday for trapped wind and it gave me chest pains and today i've had hot flashes from it. Ranitidine - one tiny pill and it's like I took Co-codamol or something all day? it's the strongest thing i can remember taking? i thought when i swallowed it... will this have any affect? it's so small. looked like a saccharine sugar tablet.
not gonna take that again.

it was handy? said heartburn? indigestion? excess acid.
why would you block acid? you need it. it's what digests food. as you age you make less and less and that's what causes acid reflux. lack of acid. it's lactic acid coming up from lower down, if real stomach acid was coming up you'd get a damaged esophagus? deeper voice. you should be taking an acid, like cider vinegar in applejuice.

I have trapped wind. But okay now. As i'm getting older my stomach acid level is dropping. it happens to everyone, it's the reason why we get weaker bones. The acid is needed to assimilate the calcium. you can buy salts - i can't afford the expensive stuff from holland and barret but use himalayan sea salt from poundshop.

Without adequate acid, we cannot properly break down proteins into amino acids. Lack of amino acids in the bloodstream means less available neurotransmitters which can mean mood disorders like depression. This poor protein digestion also leads to hair loss and brittle nails. Low stomach acid fosters imbalanced gut flora. Pathogenic and food borne bacteria, usually killed by the low stomach pH, can make their way into the intestines. Further, lack of acidity in the stomach makes it more hospitable to bacterial growth (and the stomach should be relatively sterile). Low stomach acid can pave the way for an H. Pylori infection. Hypochlorhydria leads to nutrient malabsorption. Specifically, when proteins aren’t fully broken down, B12 absorption is disrupted. Folate and nonheme iron absorption are also affected by low stomach acid. Inadequate stomach acid often means constipation, bloating, gas and belching. With inadequate acid, food sits in the stomach and putrefies instead of being properly digested. Leaky gut and therefore create food allergies can result. Improperly digested starches foster the overgrowth of pathogenic bacteria lower in the small intestine. These opportunistic bugs cause the junctions between intestinal cells to loosen, creating a condition called leaky gut. Undigested proteins and other food particles escape into the bloodstream through these cell gaps. Then, food allergies develop as the body reacts by creating antibodies to these foreign particles in the blood.
Hypochlorhydria causes heartburn
Many people – thanks to Tums commercials – believe that heartburn and acid reflux are caused by too much stomach acid. In actuality, low stomach acid results in heartburn.

bottom line - you need salt to keep the stomach acid up.
the ordinary table salt is S hhit. it's rough caustic stuff.
get sea salt which is okay, or pink salt (himalayan or celtic salt) it contains 90-100 micro minerals and it's been promoted by Anatoly Karpov.
Only one country uses it over crapp table salt - kazakhstan they do not suffer from iodine deficiency. or goiters. thyroid stuff.
