Marvellous songwriting, the Grammy nominated Disturbed cover is regarded by many as a sublime artistic interpretation, you will either love or hate David Drainmans voice it's pure Marmite, you'll love it or hate it, but whatever you do listen to it all the way through it just soars and takes you with with, no mean feat in  4.19 minutes for what was originally a quiet reflective commentary...........

Sorry kenny the Bachelors version is rushed, and musical interpretation  just marginally better than an average 'wedding singer' jobby, about as sophisticated as a blocked up khazi.

Am a music snob??, just love music and have strong opinions on it, doesn't mean I'm right! just means I hold strong opinions, as do you mate, it's marvellous that there is such variety for everyone's taste,

Whizzed of in my Cortina GT, and the place was deserted (it was off season), and we were sitting in an empty bar, wondering what the next move might be.

In walked these two pretty girls who, it turned out, were waiting for the Bachelors.
They were playing next door, and one was the girlfriend of Dec, and the other was secretary of their fan club (23 members)!!

We went back to their flat in Alma Square, and the rest is history!

Went back to the car next morning, and found two windows had been left open, and during the night was a storm that had blown the rain,
and  Autumn leaves into the car....

Oh how we laughed....

Which one??, Have you listened to the above version by Disturbed. I'm not a heavy metal/nu metal/ alternative metal or hard rock band fan, but this is exceptional, IMO.

Have to agree about the video, though I did find his close up somewhat uncomfortable to watch!

As for his version, I wasn't too keen at the start, but it does become better as it builds, but I can't believe that anyone will outdo S&G....

I Agree AP, It lose me when he forces (overcooks the emphasis) his voice in the final verse, when it just wasn't needed. but I still appreciate the interpretation. . Like I said Marmite.

Mum loved The Bachelors, as did I although I never admitted it to my mates. They made a great living regurgitating old songs in the 60s, although I didn't know they were old at the time. The 2 Closkey? brothers are still going, but John Stokes isn't with them.

loved the only fools and horses scene where dell boy wAS MANAGING RODNEYS BAND " THE BUNCH OF WALLYS " soz hit the caps lock button ,and he is on the phone to an irish club owner to try to book a gig for the band , del puts on a batchalors record ..my diane ....on the record player and turns up the volume and puts the phone reciever close to the  the speaker and yells keep it down lads ! club owner says whats that ? dell says its the band rehersing ,irishman books em for a gig
