you probably do off the reservation - take the lines outside the nine dots - is it about overcoming restrictions?

it just says corners to be on the dots, only a nine year olds homework so nothing too technical.

Also i take it a pentagon doesn't have to be equal sides, same rules with the nine dots he drew a house type shape is that correct.

Regular pentagon/hexagon or irregular? If it's the latter, then the sides not be equal.

Another hexagon would have 2 V-shapes.

Easier to visualise if you rotate the square into a diamond shape.
But as shown mid left to top mid then to top right then mid right then to bottom mid then bottom left then back to mid left.
