After the populations of England, Wales and the US all showed their ignorance it's fabulous news that Le Pen was smashed. Brings a little sanity back to the world so certainly not sick of hearing about it.

Le Pen was defeated, but not "smashed". She made the final round and received 33% of the vote. Her presence will still very much be felt. I would imagine Macron is well aware he needs to keep Le Pen's support in mind and reign in some of his more loony ideas accordingly. He's won and should be given a reasonable chance to succeed where Hollande failed miserably. If he also fails however, Le Pen's popularity will only continue to rise.

I like watching the riots every night in Paris and the lock down of Gare de Nord train station by security forces last night on Euronews, which don't be reported properly if at all on Sky news or the BBC

What a difference to the 24/7 coverage of even the lamest Anti-Trump protests for weeks after his election and inauguration. |
