I hadn't seen it either until last December. I stored it all up on my Sky planner and watched all 6 series over about 3 months. Very good. It is worth watching and you should start at the beginning.

Game Of Thrones is brilliant. Of course you should watch it from the beginning.
You won't be disappointed.

I had people around me talk about it all the time. I started watching purely because of the hype as I hate watching such series with dragons and funny looking people. Anyhow, I hav watched all the seasons. It's definitely worth giving a try even if you, like me, find it unreal. I only watched it when I had absolutely nothing to do. When the most recent season came out, i waited till all the episodes were out(I haven't been able to show that much patience for any other series). And even when it was all out, I couldn't bring myself to watching it. I liked the dwarf and a few more characters and basically forwarded to see my favorite characters and was done.

In short I didn't like it. But with the success they have had, i'd say the problem was with me and not the series. Good luck watching it.

I had to watch it under pressure from other as i had told them to watch certain other shows.(the wire, breaking bad & the killing)

It was good, but i feel what made it better for some was the sex, horror and violence. Maybe i missed the real story of power on which i was told about.

It is very good but I would disagree with the above and suggest you start at Season 4 Episode 6 and watch in reverse order

A very good series and worth watching. good acting in parts and good story telling in parts. It is actually quite gripping and well made telly. Excellent if you like gratuitous sex and violence. Early series had mainly female nudity then the politically correcters got on it and we had the disgusting misfortune to see penii, bollocks and male buttocks...I mean what is the point of that, who wants to see that...it's disgusting!

Some very interesting characters. I don't actually think it is misogynist either. Plenty of good looking Sheila's to gawp at but strong female characters as well nonetheless.

Couldn't hold a candle to Ted 2 I'm afraid.

A flamethrower would work though..

They liked her that much (i bet) that she got a recurring part after appearing..

I love game of thrones

It is complicated to watch and I think to get the best out of it it makes sense to read the books upon which it is based.  I love the books better than the series.  They are really just historical medieval fiction with a few dragons, zombies, witchcraft, sex and nudity thrown in for good measure. What I have done is watch the first series then read the relevant book then repeat.  The series is not quite the same as the books but it is close enough to make watching game of thrones even better when you know the history and characters better.

I still get gobsmacked by the sex and nudity but men will love it

Facts, I am so pleased that you like game of thrones as I thought you would not.

I saw worserer violence in school plays on the telly when i was a nipper. The War of the Roses was the most violent thing i've ever seen on telly to this very day..

It's ok.

It's very slow though, with almost everything up to this point not much more than backstory. (unlike things like the wire, or babylon five, the entire story arc hadn't been completed before it was started). There are sometimes 14 stories going on simultaneously, and so in some episodes 10 of those stories get about 4 to 5 minutes each.

If it weren't for the money that's been thrown at it, as well as some particularly good comic writing for a handful of characters (Tyrion, The Hound and Bronn), it would be ****.

Pacing issues are alleviated by binge watching and the pacing has to up itself for the last two seasons (which while being a good thing, will only expose how slow it's been before, and there will almost certainly be unsatisfactory closure on a whole number of plot threads).

They threw in a lot of porn stars in the first few seasons. I remember reading somewhere that one season had 9 pornstars appearing in it. I also remember my friends talking about it only because of the nudity. You'll get loads of strange stuff in the series including an 11 year old who still sucks his mother's titts.
