Disappointed with the solution, a but far fetched for me
It wasn't the end that stretched credulity but the beginning -- in particular, the bit in (forensics guy) Tim Ifield's flat. First, he can't take a pulse or check for breathing. Second, if he thought (wrongly) he'd killed her, he should have dialled 999 and pleaded self-defence. Similarly, when Roz killed Tim, she should have dialled 999 for the same reason. The fact he was obviously dressed and equipped to dismember her would have meant she'd be back home after a couple of hours giving a statement. Oh, and the middle, where Steve gets battered and thrown downstairs but is back at work after a couple of days (and how did he dress himself and why not hire a cleaner?); followed by Roz returning to the fray after amputation and a life-threatening infection. But the end kind of made sense. Roz and the star-struck Jodie solved the case with some good old-fashioned coppering; Hilton topped himself (or more likely was murdered) and Hastings won the day but almost as the credits rolled there were a couple of shots to make us tune into the next series to see if H really is Hastings himself. |
