So there I was, late for the theatre, and ignored the straight ahead sign junction of Denman Street and Shaftesbury Avenue, turning left instead. Received a £130 traffic violation fine this morning replete with pictorial evidence of me behind the wheel of my motor, capturing my misdemeanour in full.

* Postscript: the show was terrible (An American in Paris - avoid) and therefore parking, theatre tickets, meal and now traffic fine came in at a princely £288 for the evening. Should have taken the effing tube.

I actually read the letter from the local council about ctax increases this year and apparently the reduced funding from government will be completely gone by 2020 and that councils across the land will have to generate their own revenue.....
The camera will be the front end of that revenue stream. I got caught having to enter a bus lane the other year to make a safe turn in the road, I got a penalty and appealed but it got thrown out even though the position is evidently a trap with a camera set right at that point. |

Pointless Having a car in London ,you Cant stop if you happen to get anywhere at a reasonable rate of Knotts you have a Speeding Ticket, Amassed 12 points in 3 years Down there
 Bus Lanes, them Traffic Junction Squares there is one on New kings road turns over about 3 million a Year,The place is Overpriced and 50% of it is Filthy and rat infested HTF anyone would Pay 400 bags for a one bed flat is Beyond Belief .Would say on Average about 4 parking Tickets a Year, 1 Junction Box,1 bus lane ,On top of that you have to pay to park outside your Own House Since I left 3 years ago All points off ,and one Parking ticket £25 My fault Parked across 2 spaces |

Spot on. Take insurance, fuel, parking, servicing, depreciation etc. costs and you'll find they come to a tidy sum. Not only that, it's less hassle and you can have a beer.
