It's quite simple, Zorro. Religions tell people how to live their lives. The vast majority of people adhere to some religion or other, the two biggest religions control the attitudes of a large proportion the world's population. Their leaders call for large families and no contraception. We are leaving ourselves with little margin for error due to burgeoning populations especially in poorer countries. Droughts, soil erosion and crop failures happen and are usually beyond human control. Famine, wars and mass migrations are the result with untold human misery in their wake. |

The belief that unemployment benefit and other various government handouts should be seen as a legitimate lifestyle choice for anyone who lives or wants to live here and anyone who disagrees with them is a cold heartless basteward. Unfortunately for the Lefties most reasonable people, the real working/middle class, the silent majority, the ones that actually work, know that benefits are supposed to be a bridge from a tough short term situation designed to help them achieve, for themselves more prosperity and a better life. It's a shame really but personal responsibility doesn't seem to exist much in far Left (commie) dogma. This is why they are and will continue to lose. As Foinavon says "bring it on" |

Again, you're confusing what is happening with what you think "the far left" want to happen.
I'm certain there are people here abusing the benefits system, of course there are. There are plenty of Brits who do it too so it's bound to happen. I'm sure plenty of ours are abusing the system abroad. C'est la vie. Doesn't make it right. Not at all. But if you were to ban every social policy as soon as a few bad eggs started abusing it then there'd be no social policy at all. However, a failure of policing doesn't mean a failure of policy. My friend is a truck driver and moans about EU drivers taking his work. What is clear though is that EU rules are clearly in place to protect him and prevent drivers coming here on a job and spending time working their way round the country. The failure is in our law enforcement in tracking and cracking down on it. As for the half a million, could you send me a link? Wondering how that works. For example, when we lived abroad my wife was a stay at home mum as we strictly didn't need the extra income. We didn't claim any benefits though and wondering if the likes of her would also be called 'inactive'. |
