They say we are at the tipping point today in the news. It's only been 10-15 years. It's a case
of doubling up and phasing the old out, replacing it as you go.
I still say burn coal, don't get rid of it till it's all in place.
At this stage I'd dial back nuclear. What's the rush?
Coal's not going to poison the land for millenniums.

The motor car did not replace the horse overnight it took decades.

what I can't figure if it's all in place, working etc. Why is the electricity bill going up.
You don't have to scrape fuel out of the ground as much. it's in place?
something is missing in what they are saying to us?
Pause Switch to Standard View POWER - renewables getting up there.

The less units we use, the more they have to charge for em to maintain profits. Storage is where we should be looking, most people can make enough energy on the roof, we need a battery to keep it in, overnight would do for a start.

They gonna have to bust my door down for this

A smart meter is a new kind of gas and electricity meter that can digitally send meter readings to your energy supplier. This can ensure more accurate energy bills. Smart meters also come with monitors, so you can better understand your energy usage. Every home in Britain will have a smart meter installed by 2020.

Is this compulsory as i am very happy with my bills just now and i know they will add some on

it isn't "adding on" that is the problem, it's the fact they have been hacked and the fact that they have generated completely fictional and enormous bills.

I was getting a smart meter last month, guy showed up and said it couldn't be done there was no fuse? to cut off power safely while he worked, outside switch. He said he could reschedule the installation - I asked him if I could just keep the existing meter, he said it wasn't compulsory. So I asked him to just forget any future installation.
I heard that it was problematic anyway - weird readings or something? Fk it.

Oh - i forgot I rung them up a year ago when it was in the news, asking if i could have one... they said i was ineligible? what changed? They want to do it on their time table. When they are in the area?

I listened to this podcast 2 weeks ago

https://www.thenakedscientists.com/articles/questions/when-should-i-replace-my-cfl-bulbs-leds

and went straight out and changed the lot. LEDs are now £1 in Poundshops and bayonet converters (don't know why all LED bulbs are screw types) are 2 for £1 in Ikea.

In saying that we've a 10 year old 50" Plasma TV in our bedroom that needs a Nuclear Power Plant to power it Shocked
