Is the bridge on one side of the riverbank and not the other? that`s a design fault chaser
By:
now the bridge is closed off on the right entrance to the bridge. That`s an artistic device to stop the viewers eye
from falling off the edge of the page and focus it towards the paintings centre..fair enough, but bridges don't have that. |
By:
has there ever been a painting where the river is at the bottom of a picture like that?
I don't know. |
By:
not the way it is painted, just that it is there like that.
By:
there is a white mark under the bridge, that might be a means of trying to resolve the unsolved problem
of the area below the bridge? |
By:
the painting might be relying on the same brushwork in the trees and river and bridge, and on the limited colours
to create a feeling of coherence and structure and throughout the painting that is not there in the paintings fundamental design. |
By:
there is no short cut to being a great painter, painting is the same as a mathematical or scientific formula in that way
it is as rigorous as that, very difficult to do. |
