the painting might be relying on the same brushwork in the trees and river and bridge, and on the limited colours to create a feeling of coherence and structure and throughout the painting that is not there in the paintings fundamental design.

there is no short cut to being a great painter, painting is the same as a mathematical or scientific formula in that way it is as rigorous as that, very difficult to do.
