All world leaders are members of secret societies; they are the lead actors on the world stage, if you will. People have been conditioned to believe in the power of these people and their most effective method of control is FEAR!. As long as people believe they are in danger, whether from a foreign attack, viruses, global warming, financial sector crash, disasters, alien invasions, whatever......they can be and are easily controlled and manipulated. All other countries dont play nice guys when invading countries which is why i dont like the american way of warmongering. They'll destory countries and regions and tell you they did the people there a favor. Yes there have been good examples such as my own country but I find it disturbing that the americans get to decide who is good and who is bad. A good example of that is israel and Saudi Arabia. When Russia took Crimea back, they said bluntly they were taking their own territory back. When Iran makes nuclear bombs, it tells you what its making them for. When pakistan plays proxy war game in Afghanistan, it tells you it does that to avoid the war coming to their own country. I am yet to see a war in my own lifetime which affected the american existence directly.

The above is of course my opinion and its generated partly by the fact that there are 4 american bases within 70 mile radius of where i live in Germany and partly by the fact that i lived once in a war zone where the americans were busy preparing the world for the conflict there and calling the country a failed state when there was hardly a war there. I was fecking living there and saw the propaganda with my own eyes. And after what has happened in Iraq, pardon me for my lack of love for american aggression.

detraveller I do take on board some of your views having read Oliver Stones "The untold history of the United States" and while I'll be the first to admit they've not been saints I still choose to stand with them. Despite their flaws they have done more good than bad imo

I thought a lot of the stuff about N. Korea and China was just mad rhetoric, though, to stir things up on the campaign trail. I didn't think he would actually act on any of it while in power. Must be a lot of very worried people about, especially in South Korea.

Good point, I suppose one could read many things into it, I'm not convinced that the USA don't  like waving their big stick.

The preamble, is stronger than the long drawn out one before the Iraq invasion, Is that just the style of the new POTUS, or serious intention. North Korea has had nuclear weapons for over 20 years so it's not as if they've just arrived. Years ago no one went near NK precisely because they didn't want to take on China as well. But now they do?

The South Koreans seem to be really quiet in this episode for a country that is about to be hit with nuclear bombs. And yes the north koreans have had nuclear weapons for some time now. The Iran-Paksitan-North Korea connection if you dig deep. They'll probably only get in as much trouble as Iran and Pakistan do. Don't think the americans will go for an all out conflict. Their nuclear weapons will save them at the end me thinks. If not, then South Korea should at the very least look for a new capital city.

That's exactly what's been bugging me, namely South's lack of reaction to unprovoked american aggression. I know the americans guarantee their security but that is not a good enough excuse for them to come charging, putting South Korea at the risk of nuclear war. I know the risk already exists. But Kim's rants are different and have existed for a long time. He hasn't gone any crazier to justify the buildup.

As for the americans being p1ssed at Pakistan, that is all they can be. Pakistan plays the games for its own existence in the region. And were it not for their own nuclear weapons, and the double game in Afghanistan, they'd probably be another Iraq. One thing the present times have shown us, if you've got nuclear weapons, no one touches you. A good deterrant against super power bullying which is why the americans preach nuclear proliferation to everyone. North Korea should get away with it as well imo. Lets see
