I'm right in thinking she opened her eyes as he was about to saw her head off?  All this flummery about Thandie Newton and then write her out in episode 1? Surely not. Don't see the forensics guy as a serial killer. Though he was pretty nasty in Taboo.

my guess is they make a pact to frame the guy who was wrongly convicted in an attempt to save each others skin.

Husband followed in the car to the forensic guys house - why? what was he doing?

If she was dead it would have identical to Series 3 were they killed the new star in Episode One.
Isn't she starring in Westworld in the States? If so it might explain why ,and if, she does not feature in all the future episodes.

Remember it's not the murders. AC12 investigates police corruption, not rape, murder or kidnap, which means most of the first episode could be a red herring.

The husband definitely looks like a wrong un.

the poor bristol landlord Sad

thandie, what have you done? Scared

no explanation for how he was on top of her ready to saw her into bits and yet she managed to do him in.

surely all she had to do was go self defence as he was trying to kill her?

what a web she weaves.

i'm over my thandie crush, she's far too dangerous.

this and the fall the only things we have that compare to nordic noir imo.

Not keen on how much of the Police drama's they're puching out now though .. dif one every week .. all Police related .. Murders.. whodunit .. that kid's a weirdo ... IT'S AN AGENDA!!

I usually refuse to watch the GARBAGE .. but the first Line of Duty was quite decent

The first series was good, and the second was excellent. The third was drivel that turned into Die Hard. This one could go either way.

Don't forget they are already one short because they've not replaced Dot since the last series.

Keeley Hawes has been shamefully overlooked again in the Bafta nominations for her excellent performance as Lindsay Denton, and to add further insult Daniel Mays has been nominated despite only appearing in one episode, although he was also very good.

Any chance of him surviving?

Oh right .. so now there are Two Balaclava men .. or is it still one .. well no because Tim clearly wore a Balaclava .. but maybe he's not the Real Balaclava Man ... it's her husband ... and Tim only wore a Balaclava as a one off as he wanted to kill that b1tch ...  and he's not Balaclava Man ... or just maybe they're in on it together .. Balaclava Posse .. then b1tch would've had pre-knowledge .. assuming she Knew .. of course .. which she wouldn't .. and just happens to be His Wife .. so that rules that out ... maybe she has a secret Balaclava of her own ... but that maybe Racist ... anyway if you're IQ is low enough to fall for this heap of sh1te you should sleep on your kitchen floor reciting the Bible with a freshly printed picture of Trump in hand ... personally I'm glad that smug **** is dead ..thanks BBC

Any chance of him surviving?

In real life, death or at least a long spell in hospital and likely brain damage and possible paralysis. Otoh, we thought Roz was a gonner at the end of the first episode.

If you are right then that makes three because whoever attacked Steve was not the husband. Nick's firm had just moved to the fifth floor but whoever jumped Steve was on the third (and going up -- presumably to attack Nick).

Not sure why it was necessary to include a shot showing the name of the guy the husband was calling on his phone, maybe he was a member of the balaclava posse rather than a criminal lawyer?

... With a baseball bat.  The weapon of choice for anyone doing away with a lawyer in a corporate office.  Probably had it hidden in his pants as he got past the security guard.  "Is that a baseball bat in your pants or are you just pleased to see me ?"

sadly it is getting more than a bit far fetched, i'm waiting for dot to re-appear Cry

mc moonbeam i'm guessing he survives the fall, if he does then your write up next week will be even more excoriating.

i dont know if any of you have seen hinterland, a bbc wales detective series, i'm enjoying this far more.
By:

When: 12 Apr 17 14:21
Hinterland is perfectly OK,but Line of Duty is far more ground-breaking,though I agree it has flaws.
Hinterland, like Shetland,is the UK answer to Scandi-noir imo.

He's not dead , that's why it is only a couple of levels fall.
If you remember the hubby from his role in Luther , it is no surprise he is a worng 'un.

@sixtwosix is right. Steve lives, at least for another week. And what happened to the baseball bat? Why haven't they found it?

I'm damned if I know what's going on.

This week's episode gave us an exemplary insight into how corrupt and/or incompetent public servants can hang onto their jobs (and/or get promoted way beyond merit) by successful use of the gender/race card.
