An EU Cult mantra...

1, IRA v British Army 30 years conflict, More than 3,500 people were killed in the conflict

2, ETA (separatist group) v Spanish Government , Since 1968, over 1,000 people have died in the conflict

3, Kosova War 5 March 1998 until 11 June 1999. In June 2000, the Red Cross reported that 3,368 civilians (mainly Kosovar Albanians, but with several hundred Serbs, and Roma)    were still missing, nearly one year after the conflict, most of whom it concluded had to be 'presumed dead'

4, Turkish Invasion of Cyprus 1974, Around 150,000 people (amounting to more than one quarter of the total population of Cyprus, and to one third of its Greek Cypriot population) were expelled from the occupied northern part of the island,

5, Bosnian War 1992 - 1995, around 100,000 people were killed during the war.

6, French prime minister Manuel Valls declares ‘war’ on radical Islam, January 10th 2015

Anyway the reason we didn't have a major war in Europe was due to Nato not the EU.

All those US troops and tank batallions and air power, backed up with a devastating nuclear umbrella, I think that helped unify against a common enemy and deter that enemy than a bunch of buerocrats giving bungs to French Farmers and getting fat on expense accounts.
