It was a humiliation for Paul Ryan, Republican Speaker in Congress, whose plan it was that blew up because the Tea Party headbangers in the Republican Party won't compromise on anything.
Ryan's plan died, and Ryan was humiliated in his claim he could work with his own party.
Meanwhile, Trump's still president and now doesn't have to waste the next three years worrying about a subject he never cared about in the first place.

It's like David Cameron offering a referendum on Brexit.
Trump's a New York liberal who hates foreigners. He's not a genuine right wing ideologue, let alone a Tea Partier. His views on policy -- any policy -- are on the level of a golf club bore. He knows what he doesn't like but has no detailed plan to fix any of it. He's Nigel Farage on steroids.

That's not what I said is it. It's a democracy and you need the numbers on side to push through policies, if your political opponents are blocking you on partisan grounds there's nothing you can do. This is a party politics issue of which Trump is above, so apart from a few platitudes you don't expect to see anything.
Following your logic, Obama was a complete failure as POTUS. I don't think you'd agree with that statement somehow.
When Obamacare fails as it is want to do then the GOP replacement will be enacted quickly. Ryan will take a hit from this as it's his baby, but it'll come back in some form, so there's no long term damage.

Is this the rust belt states where he's promised the workers jobs. When all the tasks these men did, were in industries that have long gone. Or where the work has long since been automated.

I don't think Trump was that bothered. The political system was screwed before he arrived and will be when he departs. This was an attempt to replace a rotten healthcare system with another rotten healthcare system. Lipstick on a pig, as another famous Republican once said. Except Trump isn't and never was a Republican. And his electorate will just correctly assume the corrupt political establishment has blocked him.

The cauldron of chaos and confusion which engulfs President Trump in his early days in office is simply unprecedented.”
Three weeks have passed since Trump’s tweet that Obama wiretapped Trump Tower. He has yet to offer any evidence, or apologize.
As Week 19 opened, Trump’s Gallup daily approval rating hit a new low: 37% approve, 58% disapprove.
After Trump’s embarrassing meeting with Merkel last week, Germany’s defense minister refuted a claim by Trump that Germany owes NATO “vast sums of money,” by saying “there is no debt account in NATO.”
New York AG Schneiderman hired fired US Attorney Bharara assistant to focus on issues specifically related to the Trump regime.
An op-ed penned by two former chief WH ethics lawyers titled, “Trump’s unprecedented war on ethics,” detailed the a long laundry list of ethics breaches already committed by Trump and his regime.
Continuing the Deep State theme, the Trump regime installed insiders in executive branch agencies to spy on fellow employees. At the same time, leadership roles remain largely unfilled (61 of 553 have a nominee).

At the first day of the House Intel Committee’s hearing into Russia, Comey said the FBI is conducting a counterintelligence investigation of both Russian interference in our election, and whether there was any coordination between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Comey also said there is “no information” to back Trump’s wiretapping claim.
During the hearing, Trump live-tweeted from the @POTUS Twitter account. His tweets contained false and misleading information.

CNN reported that the FBI has information that members of the Trump regime possibly coordinated with Russia on the release of information damaging to Hillary Clinton.

Of all the weeks so far, this was the most exhausting. In normal times, any one item below would be a top story for days or weeks — the flow of not normal is so heavy right now, it’s a challenge to keep track. Newsman Dan Rather best summarized the feel of Week 19: “I have seen a lot in my lifetime. But I have never seen anything like this. No one has. The cauldron of chaos and confusion which engulfs President Trump in his early days in office is simply unprecedented.”
Three weeks have passed since Trump’s tweet that Obama wiretapped Trump Tower. He has yet to offer any evidence, or apologize.
As Week 19 opened, Trump’s Gallup daily approval rating hit a new low: 37% approve, 58% disapprove.
After Trump’s embarrassing meeting with Merkel last week, Germany’s defense minister refuted a claim by Trump that Germany owes NATO “vast sums of money,” by saying “there is no debt account in NATO.”

I would say anything to do with family values type stuff : gay marriage , abortion etc . Trump does not care about things like that though he may pretend to at some point.
