Morgan quits TV awards after 'campaign'
Last updated 11 minutes ago

Piers Morgan
Presenter Piers Morgan has pulled out of hosting a TV awards night after criticism of his support for Donald Trump.

The host of ITV's Good Morning Britain said he did not want to distract from award winners.

The Royal Television Society announced Mr Morgan as presenter of its programme awards on Thursday.

But many TV figures criticised the choice, including awards judge Bonnie Greer.

On Twitter, Ms Greer said that she was "honoured to be a judge" for the awards but would decline to attend the dinner because of Mr Morgan.

The playwright, novelist and critic cited Morgan's support of President Trump, who has attacked TV news organisations as "enemies of the American people".

Sure.Not a problem.

Morgan is an egotistical, arrogant bully boy, who is only employed to spew out his nonsensical ' controversial ' utterances.
His past scurrilous actives whilst editor of tabloids shows him to be a man of zero morals or integrity.
Male version of Katie Hopkins. Both thoroughly nasty pieces of work.

So anyone who does not share the lib/pc agenda should be persecuted out of employment in our country of tolerance?

Not anyone saddo - but proven liars intent on saying anything to provoke controversy without a shred of decency in them I'm fine with.

And as for being "persecuted out of employment" - I thought he was working every day on GMTV for a seven figure salary - after he moved back from LA after chasing the dosh over there.

Morgan doesn't tow the general media line that Trump is the devil incarnate and for that he is to be admired(but not by you obviously)As for K/H her show on LBC on a Sunday Morning is unmissable. Its a breath of fresh air surrounded among the patronising views of Blair, Clegg and o'Brien. She and Farage are the only two presenters worth listening to on the airwaves currently.

Anyone can air their views - that is the beauty of living in a democracy.

People also have the right to disagree with them - which is what has led to these people refusing to attend if Morgan is in attendance - their right.

He has taken the decision to pull out - not the organisers.

I agree Saddo.  Lying  Tories on both those programmes are enough to make anyone angry.
But even they don't make a living out of being deliberate/scripted    '  shock jocks' on a daily basis on prime time TV / on line media

Don't know them personally, but from their combined output over many years, Hopkins and Morgan seem pretty atrocious human beings.

Exactly.

Morgan might have fronted it out and told anyone who detracted from the winners to go to hell and that the story wasn't him presenting the awards. If he chooses to act some other way because of what Bonnie Greer might do well that's up to him

anyone who makes this about trump is an idiot and that applies to both sides of the argument.

Piers Morgan is a cowardly narcissistic bore who makes his money trolling the uneducated and bullying third rate minds on twitter and his tawdry little television appearances. He doesn't support Trump. He's hedged his bets very carefully on this, but he's quite happy to chase clicks from the window-lickers churning out the same old libtard bashing nonsense whilst still being careful not to endorse Trump directly.

This has nothing to do with no-platforming either, it's about his being chosen to represent people and an organisation who should have known better.
