I'm thinking of ditching my by landline. Thinking of getting a cheap mobile with 2GB of data and tethering it to my laptop.
Anyone else done this? Mobile and data recommendation please.

I have tethered and it works well but you cannot rely on it for important stuff. I used it when the wifi I was using went down but of course the tethering went down as well sometimes and when you are playing poker it is not good. If it wasn't for poker though I would ditch my broadband and tether.
Be aware that many mobile providers forbid tethering, well they did when I used it. You really have to look at the small print. I think giff gaff allows tethering on all its plans.
