1. Roller
2. Bentley 3. Jag/Daimler the same thing now, though I think they were different in the distant past. I've had a couple of Jags (not at the same time), but now jags are trying to be a bit more popular and are nowhere near the price of the 1st 2. Especially 2nd hand. The most recent one (sold it a few weeks ago) was only £800 - low mileage, perfect nick. You couldn't get a roller or Bentley for that. |

This is a "when" question. Do you mean now?, and define "prestigious". I would have Rolls Royce as the most prestigious and Daimler/Bentley tied for second ahead of Jaguar.
BUT in my TOP TEN desirables, I'd have ONE RR, TWO Bentleys and about FIFTEEN JAGs ![]() |

I was thinking present day-taking prestige to connote 'high status' , 'inspiring admiration' or some such.
I would be disposed to go along with the rankings suggested-while acknowledging that prestige can change according to occupation, age ,celebrity culture (film, music ,sports stars etc.)and rarifying factors like royalty. Anything a Queen or a King uses on state occasions more or less zooms to the top of the prestige ladder I imagine. |

probably not so glamourous these days, a bit old fashioned even, perhaps ?

its very smart too akabula, but i just think most see these marques about being
big , and luxury interiors , they are surely miles behind in cars aspired to today, whereas they were the must aspire to of my youth. |

Vubiant - I thought that was what you meant - but there are no current Daimlers and haven't been for ten years. Rolls Royce is still ahead of Bentley is the current (prestige and price) league table (Discuss??) and both are way ahead of Jaguar using your measure. BUT everyone wants old Jags - 30's SS's, XKSS'S C types, D types, XK's in all their other forms, E types in nearly all their forms (my mates primrose 4.2 coupe I hate!! - shhhh)

Was a Triumph Spitfire for me when young. Nowadays it would be a top of the range BMW.
I parked almost daily a few years back beside a Bentley and it didn't inspire any jealousy or whatever in me. Jags I'm not that keen on and agree RR a tad too big. |
