Tesco customers are being short-changed by promotions which have expired but are still advertised on the shelves, a BBC investigation has found.
It revealed shoppers were overcharged at two-thirds of stores visited by an undercover reporter.
In 33 of 50 stores visited, multi-buy promotions were marked on the shelf, but the time-limited discounts were not applied at tills.
Surprise surprise. It's always Tesco treating their customers like fools.

The biggest con is the main,drink,dessert and side for £10 they promote
If you don't pay full attention and pick up the side you end up just paying full rate for the other 3 items which is £13/£14

Tesco have turned in to a truly disgusting company. I have seen food left on shelves past sell by date (Not once off) and they are treating workers like dirt in Ireland trying to renege on contracts
Have complained at Tesco previously. You usually get given something for nothing.
stemac is the man to ask about tesco unfortunately dont think he's posted for about 10 years.

My message to Tesco had office
Today I bought fuel and two bottles of wine at your Brayton store.
My fuel cost was £30.02 and the wine was buy two for £9.00.
Unfortunately, at the till, I was charged £12.00 so the manager was called, and she became quite surly, and wouldn't accept that the display was not only misleading but was totally wrong, as there were no other prices on the other shelves. I have a photo of the display which I would like to send if there is a way to do this.
Will await your response and I thank you in advance.

In Morrisons at the weekend they proudly advertised a certain brand of champagne with a big sign. Underneath the sign was dozens of bottles of prosecco. I asked the girl on customer
services about 5 yards away, where was the x x champagne. She said it there isn't it. I said no its prosecco. I dont think she had a clue what I was talking about. I am sure many people
would have picked up a bottle and put it in their trolley without noticing. If I could have been asked I would have got the manager over and said it was misleading.

I don't see the problem Aunty. You had a go at the manager and then at head office, so you got 2 whines for free there.

Whilst on the subject,and to the point made by the OP, I've had three or four occasions,all with the wine,
where I was asked for more than the displayed price.
The thing is that, if they had been just part of a shop, it would have gone unnoticed!

In the bbc programme some of the prices were still wrong a month after being told that they were wrong.

I like Tesco. Even at full price it's probably cheaper than sainsbury's or the COOP or waitrose.
Local Tesco (mini one attached to Esso garage) is notorious for charging full price versus the advertised price. Have to watch the scanning process like a hawk. Last time the visible scanner was snapped off and 3 of 8 items I bought were wrongly priced!
Fairly recently one of the staff accused me of doing a drive off without paying for the petrol in front of a queue of customers!I was flabbergasted and asked why would I now come back to pay it (along with my groceries)? She was then very abrupt and said I 'must have moved my car' (of course I hadn't moved it an inch).
I got home fuming about the whole debacle and found a stickered reduced item was charged at full price to add insult to injury. So I e-mailed Tesco about the whole thing. They reviewed the CCTV and spoke to the store manager who accepted his clerk was not only wrong, but very rude also. They said she was getting more 'training,'wrote a very nice letter of apology and gave me a £25 gift voucher.

Tesco Express, Brayton, ask you to move to a parking space after filling or, otherwise, to move forward to clear the pump.

I needed some packing materials to post an item.
Checked on line and they have something that will be fine for £1.53.
Went to the main Post Office and picked up the goods (no price on the display) but at the counter I was asked for £2.69!!!
The guy wasn't interested when I told him, so I'm stuck with it!

I like Tesco. Even at full price it's probably cheaper than sainsbury's or the COOP or waitrose.
I remember a few years back chatting to a young woman in Sainsbury's and she said her mum finds it dearer than Tesco - even with the staff discount. I can't really see a lot of difference between the two.
In my experience, Tesco and Sainsury's are both cheaper than Co-Op.
Waitrose, on like for like, ie branded items, aren't much different to Tesco and Sainsbury's. Their own stuff is dearer but it's often better quality.

I can go to sainsbury's and see stuff that feels like it's 1.5x the price of Tesco. COOP worse.

You and me both. I only enter a Tesco if there is a particularly good offer and then make a point of only buying that item and ignoring all their misleading promotions. Then it's Bix 1 Tesco 0. In truth I only go about once a year and that's too often.

Why boycott? Wait a ****ing minute I was about to say there WAS better reason to boycott the COOP as they donate large amounts to Labour but they stopped..
But they haven't stopped, apparently still do, best part of a million a year. I'll remebmer THAT next time I consider buying their hugely overpriced poor range of crap.
And believe me it IS overpriced, I sometimes visit a relative and the only shop near them is a COOP and the prices they charge are a total rip off, we're talking it feels like double the price you can get the same stuff elsewhere. I'm loaded due of course to years of doing the opposite of whatever moneytree tips, but even I resent paying it.

Co-op make a lorra money from rent -they own land all over the shop . The food business side seems to be on the out - stores closing and co-op now letting flooor space to companies such as Subway .
Having said that I bought my lottery ticket today from the COOP so, if that wins, I take it all back
