supposedly they are shutting job centres now? 75 of them. About time.
security guards? they need them coz they are ignorant, disgraceful rude people. They've traded their compassion for a wage. There are some that are okay. about twenty percent. usually women. years ago you went in and signed on - no hassle. then Thatcher brought in some mildly irritating BS to **** you about. Send you to a week's orientation about dealing with employers? Then Labour(tony got in? ) instead of helping the working man he increased the pressure. Started sanctioning people for anything? If your phone never got a make believe text you were sanctioned? It became kafka on ice. The only way to escape them was to pay for extravagant student loans. Doctor's lines and going to 26 week courses on the new deal? All of this is causing more expense. Shut it all down leave consoles for idiots who don't have internet. Give them a card to log in. they can use a phone. send letters. The jobcentres are just awful places of misery. Besides paying sadists? what is the psychology of punishing people with £60 a week in their pocket? why pay even more to do it? there's a real mental load of BS there that is festering. Shut it down now. |

The multi-millionaire Ken Loach. Why should he change a format that has made him rich and feted round the world?
I gather his latest - a documentary about Corbyn - could be the funniest film of the decade. Maybe that elusive Oscar? |
By:
I haven't seen the film, but from what I have read about it and knowing the kind of film ken loach makes, it would probably wind me up. He has never lived among benefit scroungers who are quite capable of work but chose not too.
By:
would think 99% of film makers have never experienced their subject matter, so this is nothing new.
By:
Ken Loach top man , doesn't take a nonsense or lectures from the tories
By:
Is Ken Loach, the millionaire film maker a socialist, then, Anxious?
An ex King Edward V1 Grammar school boy, Oxford graduate, true to his working class roots, no doubt. Is he a Tony and Peter type of socialist, with a burning desire to make money, sorry, to change society? ![]() ![]() ![]() |
By:
Loach sounds like a big fat hypocritical mug.
By:
Nah Johnny,
he wants to change society, like Tony. You remember, education, education, aducation. And the ones who didn't have one believed him. Meanwhile on planet Earth Tony got on with making money. "Things will only get better" ... how they all laughed and sang with Tony and Peter back in the day. Well they're not fooking laughing now. Properly taken in, they were. ![]() |
By:
Loach is a Marxist and I just can't do with him.
By:
Fookin hell, you have to be really rich to be a Marxist.
Must be loaded, and probably has a housefull of Syrian refugee "children" to keep. The fellah's a martyr, I tell you. Guys like him can never give too much. It's just pure goodness. |
By:
So now nobody who has money can have left wing views is that same that goes for those who are penniless and broke who fall for the divide and conquer garbage from the tories and their fanboys
By:
Anxious, can you honestly be a wealthy Marxist.
I can understand a wealthy philanthropist with compassionate views being abhorred by some of the inequality in this country, but FFS a Marxist! We should have NO homeless, for example, but by the same token we shouldn't pay anybody to sit at home and do fook all. But successive labour and tory governments allow it. We should provide housing for all and make people do charity work or public good work for their benefits. What I dislike is the liberal lefties who wring their hands and do fook all. We're getting a lot of them these days. BTW, for what it's worth, I admire Denis Skinner greatly, as I admired Margaret Thatcher. Both had convictions and principles imo. |

By:
So in this wonderful world of yours where benefit fraud is about 0.5 per cent but the amount of unclaimed tax is about 20 billion you think it is right to hound and persecute someone who fiddles a few pounds compared the wealthy who pay no tax at all, and the big multinational companies who pay nothing as well
By:
Some people even though they have money are not obsessed with it , its usually the working class tories who worship it above anything else in their miserable lives
By:
Poor anxious, suckered in by the Guardian figure of 0.5% for benefit fraud.
The figure was for identifiable benefit fraud. The people who get away with fraud, those people claiming stuff they should not have because they were negligent, and those claiming stuff they should not have because the systems are too complicated are not included. Have you seen the figures for people paying back benefit overpayments? And when HMRC pulled several thousand tax credit claims for an audit one time, they found 9-11% of them contained fraud ( the value of the fraud was about 1/3rd of that because 2/3rds of what was being claimed was genuine on average ) . |
